According to the study conducted insufficient amounts of vitamin 'C 'in a male's diet can lead to agglutination(clumping)of sperm. Thus leading to inhibiting maximal movement of the sperm.vitamin C is helpful in a person who smokes and have abundant amounts of abnormally formed sperm.Smoke of cigarettes is absorbed through our lungs and enters our circulatory system.this may happen to an active smoker or a passive smoker(a person who stay in an envoirment where people smoke) Once these toxins reach male's bloodstream they find their passage to the semen and this in turn leads to less than optimal sperm count and their function to fertilize the egg ,they intially become weak and may die before forming a zygote

The research shows that vitamin C helps to neutralize the toxic effects of the smoke from a cigarette on the sperm and make the sperms to stick together (a condition called agglutination)and the fertility is reduced. Vitamin C reduces sperm agglutination,(3) increasing the fertility of men with this condition is reduced. The recommended dietary allowance of vitamin C for an adult males is 60 milligams/day.according to the reserch performed it is said that intake of 200 to 1000 milligrams/day boost the sperm count and their logivity to survive in the passage and stay alive till it fertilizes an egg in the woman's body.
