Using the GFX writer to create professional looking header graphics is as easy as 123.

Here is an example of how I created a wedding planning header. The header pic is displayed in the photo section of this site. I used an empty header graphic that I downloaded for free.

You need to open the GFX Writer software, then on the "Design Mode"panel, click on "Header Graphics". Then click on "Insert picture", "Add Header Graphic", browse to the folder containing your header graphics, and import the one that you want to use. In my case I select the weddingheaderblank one.

You will now see the header before you. We are now going to add some text to the header, and then play around with it to create different effects.

In the text panel, enter the text that you would like to use. In my case, I want it to read "Wedding Planning Made Easy". Click on "Insert Text" and you should now see the text in the editor before you. Click on the text to select it. You will see a dotted frame around it - this indicates that you have selected the text so that you can apply changes to it.

Next, choose the font family that you would like to use. I want to use Book Antiqua, so I select that font family, and the size 20. I want to change the text from being all black to having a border around it. So next, I select the color palette, change the color to white, then select "Styles", select "Border Effect", "Border Text". You will now see the text is white and it has a black border around it. I want the border color to be blue, so I select the text, and then select the color palette, then change the color. I also want a shadow under it, so again I select "Styles" and then "Text Shadow". This adds a shadow to your text.

Next, I want to add some more text to the graphic - "How to plan the best wedding ever". Insert the text and you will notice that it has the same effects as the text that you added previously. I need to change the way it looks by selecting a different font etc. Select the text, then select the font and size that you want to use.

Because of the fact that the main text is a bit fancy, it is probably better to use just a plain style for the byline otherwise it might look a bit too busy. So, I select Arial Black, size 12. I need to undo the border text effect, so while select the text I click on "Styles", "Border Effect", "Border Text" which clears the border around my text. Next I need to change the color to something other than white, otherwise it will not really show up, so I select dark blue from the color palette.

Already, just by adding a bit of text, and making a few changes, the header already looks different to what it did 5 minutes ago.

At this stage I export my image to jpg format, and I save the project to a folder where I will be able to find it again in case I want to make changes to it or add some other interesting effects.

GFX Writer

Using the GFX Writer must be just about the easiest way to create stunning ebook covers as well as ezine covers etc. Here is how I created 2stunning ebook and spiral ebook covers in about 5 minutes straight!

First of all I looked for some free graphics to use from http://www.sxc.hu/, then downloaded the graphics to my computer. Imported the image for the ebook cover into my GFX Writer, then chose the ebook cover template, next I added some text to it, and this is what it looks like after it was created.
