Maximus Giambetti, who later recognizes Claudia to be the daughter of rival mob boss Anthony Zachara, questions why she is in "Max's" office. Claudia catches on to Max's charade and pretends to be hot for him just in time for Max's girlfriend Dianne Miller to walk in and try to bust up the show.

Sam McCall, caught by karpov, tries to lie her way out of being exposed, but Karpov doesn't buy it and puts her to a test.

Carlye tells Kate and Olivia that Sonny is not going to back down in spite of her effort to help save him from himself. Kate is disappointed but Olivia understands. Carlye then points out that Olivia seems to know Sonny better than Kate does.

Tracy Quartermaine awaits confirmation that Luke is in Mexico and is excited about the thought of going to get him and bring him home. Edward reminds Tracy that there is an outstanding warrant for Luke's arrest for money laundering. Tracy threatens her father, telling him to call in a few favors and clear the way for Luke to come home or else. Edward first refuses to cooperate, but then later gives in when Tracy threatens to expose Edward's recent, secret online dating activities.

Scott Baldwin terminates Alexis's surveillance on Andre Karpov, which means Alexis can no longer use Karpov's activities to spy on Sam. Jerry later visits Alexis's office to try and take her out of the office for a while. The distraught District Attorney refuses to leave, then makes a final decision to request a search warrant for her daughter Sam's apartment.

Frustrated and annoyed, Kate Howard kicks her cousin Olivia and Carlye out of her hospital room so she can prepare to talk to Sonny alone. Olivia and Carlye comply and decide to go out for cocktails together. At a bar, Carlye tells Olivia her recent history with Sonny and the boys. Olivia listens carefully while thinking of Sonny and her own son Dante.

As if their friendship is close to an end, Sonny argues with Jason about working against him, and attempts to get jason to rejoin forces with him by trying to convince Jason that he is out of his league when it comes to effectively managing the mob. Jason holds his ground, knowing that he has been running the organization successfully while protecting everyone and keeping things quiet, and will NOT do things Sonny's way.

Maximus Giambetti says goodbye to his sons. But before leaving town, he stops off at Sonny's to let him know that he has known about Max's charade along and to thank Sonny for giving Max his moment in the lime-light, however fake it was. He also asked Sonny not to tell Max that he knew about his mob boss act and to continue to protect him always. Sonny agreed.

Once done with Jason and Giambetti, Sonny later visits Kate's hospital room where she makes an emotional plea for Sonny to refrain from retaliation. She promises Sony that she will stay by his side and ride out any storms that come their way, as long as he stays out of the mob. Sonny hears her out and then tells her that he cannot give her what she wants. He is who he is and WILL BE handling things HIS way, even if it means losing her.
