Preperation For Examination

During The days of preparation for your examinations; you have to consume the food item you are accustomed to. A change in your diet may upset your digestive system and may cause stomach disorders and great discomfort to you in various ways. Avoid excessive eating and hot dishes.

You have to choose a room having free flow of air as your study room. Your brain needs a lot of oxygen for functioning efficiently. If possible provide the room, with a fan. The study room should not be close to the kitchen, as the smoke and smell are likely to spoil your health and concentration.

TV has great influence on pupils. So it should be kept away from the study room. Cable connection should be cut off at least two months before the commencement of the examination. Tube lights are not to be preferred for lightning the room. The position and distance of the lamp can be adjusted in such a way that it does maximum comfort to the eyes. It should be too far or too near. The human brain can not go on working for hours together it can work most effectively from 3 to 6 in the morning. The time from 12 noon to 2pm is least suitable for study.

As the brain toils throughout the day, it gets fatigued and you feel exhausted. If you sleep 5 to 6 hours at night, you will feel fresh when you get up. This is why it is said "Early to bed and early to rise make a man healthy, wealthy and wise".

Your posture while studying is very important. The brain and nervous system function through the ionic exchange of sodium and potassium ions. While we are studying if our body or foot touches the ground, the earth will attract the ions from our body. As a result our result become tired so while studying our foot should not touch the floor. Similarly the position of our back bone also is very important. For the proper functioning of our brain the back bone should be kept straight. To keep the spine straight there are several yogas. If your back bone is not kept straight you will become sleepy too soon. Use a writing pad when you want to write down something. Don't you feel sleepy when you lie down in an easy chair? While reading, therefore never lean forward or backward.

Learning should always be systematic. All the portions mentioned in the syllabus should be covered one month before the commencement of the examination. Each subject should be learned for 1 and half hours at a stretch .Try to work out. The previous years question papers. Answer all the model question papers keeping the schedule. If possible get your answer valued by teachers. Then you can have an idea about your own standard.

Don’t spend sleepless nights before the examination days. It will only help you forget what ever you have studied so far. Your brain needs rest. So also, learning without a pause is not advisable. ‘All study and no play makes jack a dull boy’, as the saying goes. Learning for 8 hours and then entertainment and sleep, that should be routine. From my own experience I can say that keeping awake for long hours at night is extremely harmful. Now I can’t raise my eye-lids properly. You should not have this experience. You may cut short the time for entertainment during the study leave period, But don’t cut short the time for sleep.

Make it habit to write down short notes and charts while you are reading. You only need to turn over these pages, the day before the examination. You can’t read the text books fully on such days. But remember your notes should not be very lengthy.

Time management is a science. It is a science. It is the utilization of the 24 hours of a day. in the most beneficial manner. God gave 24 hours a day to Edison who made 1400 inventions and also to a man who snored peacefully in the next room. We need to sleep for 6 to 8 hors daily. If you borrow a few hours from a particular day’s sleep you should make up it on the next day.

You should have a time piece or clock in your study room. If it strikes half-hourly, it will be convenient for the student to assess his progress. You alone cannot make your studies successful. Paste a copy of your timetable on the wall to be seen by your parents also. This will help your parents not to interfere with your studies but rather help you instead.

Telephone calls are certainly a nuisance to your study. Keep away from them as far as possible. If you strictly follow your time table and study for 8 hours per day, you will utilize 240 hours in a month. Do follow the timepiece, but not be a timepiece, because it works only as long as it is wound up. You should conduct a simple test after two or three weeks of study to know weather you have stored enough thing in your head. Learning byheart is an important thing.

Reach your examination hall at least half an hour before the examination begins. Locate your seat and sit calmly and comfortably. As soon as you get the answer sheet write down your register number in the space provided for. Then, read the question paper very carefully and begin to answer confidently.
