Global warming is considered when the average temperature increases the Earth’s near-surface air and the oceans. The earth is warmed by heat trapping gases called greenhouse gases. This increase threatens the earth’s climate and when that happens, sea level will also rise. Greenhouse effect the atmosphere in many ways and our survival greatly depend on it, but too much of it can also destroy us. Some of the problems start with us, humans. Our activities can distort and accelerate the process and create too much of a good thing. Burning of natural gas, coal and oil has raised the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. We also have a problem with farming practices that increase the level of methane. Moreover, many factories produce industrial gases that are long lasting and affect the atmosphere. Population growth played a huge part in the global warming issue we are facing. The more humans the earth has, the more need they have for fossil fuel to heat their homes, transportation, manufacturing and farming, all this in turns increase greenhouse gases.

Unfortunately for us, the United States is the largest contributor to global warming. Americans are only 4 % of the world population but produces about 25 % of carbon dioxide pollution from our continue increase in appetite for fossil fuel. We as a country emit more carbon dioxide than China, India and Japan, combined. Some of our industries in the United States emit the most greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Manufacturing of such products as cement, iron, steel aluminum, ammonia, titanium dioxide are great contributors.

To help reduce global warming there a few things we can do as a population. First, we have to practice, reduce, reuse and recycle things, such as paper, plastic bottles etc. Second, use less heat and air conditioning; third, reduce the amount of driving we do, which will reduce the amount of fossil fuel we consume. Fourth, plant as many trees as we can, they will absorb carbon dioxide and reduce greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Fifth, we have to encourage each other to conserve. If we don’t follow these simple rules, the punishment will be severe. The destruction of our planet will be our punishments.

There may be questions regarding what and who is the cause of global warming. Depends on who you talk to will determine the answer. If your company manufacture equipment that will help you to go “GREEN” of course that individual will tell you, we are about to destroy the planet with our over use of many products, such as fossil fuels. But if your company is in the business of creating natural gases and other products coming from fossil fuel, you will hear there is no such thing as global warming. All the severe weather that has been link to global warming because of our over use of fossil can’t not be proven. Before all these manufacturing, the earth had many years of severe weather that was not link to greenhouse gases.

After visiting many websites and read many articles on global warming, I am just as confuse as when I started this project. I do not have any concrete proof to say this product or that product causes global warming. The planet goes through many changes over a few centuries, and I think some of these changes will help to revitalize our planet and create and new environment for future humans, just like thousands of years before us
