GOOD FATS VS BAD FATS

Everyday we heard about low fat foods, a new oil-free salad dressing, an artificial fat substitute. Does this mean that fat is only the thing bad for our body? The answer is no! In fact there are many good fats in the natural food. However, since fats are such a concentrated food, it makes sense to eat them only in moderation.
The secret to eating in healthy way and for cancer prevention:-
1- The good and safe fats are found in nuts and seeds-like almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, sesame and sunflower seeds, their oils and “butters,” avocados, and extra virgin olive oil or unrefined sesame oil. Good fats are also present in the germ of grains and in soy product like tofu.
2- Avoid excesses of saturated fats, usually animal fats, with the exception of fish. Eat only small amounts of animal products, butter, cream cheese, lard and bacon. It’s fairly clear that diet high in saturated fat increases at least the risk for colorectal cancer.
3- Use plant oils in moderation, but don’t be afraid of natural plants oils as they are most unsaturated, with an exception of coconut and certain kinds of palm oils.
4- Avoid artificially prepared fats (trans fats) like hydrogenated fats in shortening, some margarine, and many commercial baked goods and snack foods. Artificially prepared fats have some of the properties as saturated fats, although their role in cancer is unclear at this time.
Unrefined oils, like extra virgin olive oil and that from nuts and oily seeds such as sesame and wheat germ, are among the good fats that contain powerful, natural, disease-fighting antioxidants. For a cancer patient, these kinds of fats are probably the safest, where women consuming olive oil had a very low possibility of heaving breast cancer.
The healthiest kinds of oils to use are those that have been processed only by cold pressing. This oil is minimally processed and ultimately retains the maximum amount of their naturally occurring health-protecting substances. However, usually those thing only been sale at health food store.
While under treatment, cancer patient may not feel like eating “fat”, as fat is sometimes not easy to digest under the stress of certain chemotherapies. After digestive system is well again, a moderate amount of fat in the diet does seem to be beneficial to total health. In fact, the body need a little bit of fat to restore the body function for work properly. Remember, too little of too much of anything are never desirable.
