Gordon Ramsey Kitchen Nightmares

I first saw Gordon Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares when i was flying from Taipei to Tokyo. I love UK TV and these days reality tv programmes are very popular. Living in Japan, i am totally deprived of quality UK TV so for the short flight i was glued to the screen.

I had seen Hells Kitchen before, hells kitchen is a sort of boot camp for amateur chefs. With Chef Ramsey acting like the drill seargent from `Full Metal Jacket` swearing and shouting at the chefs as they scurry around the kitchen. To be honest, i thought alot of the drama was put on..Gordon seems to be overly mean.. it reminds be of the apprentice with Donald trump complete with cheesy narration.

So thank f*ck for Kitchen Nightmares. Kitchen Nightmares is about real restuarants struggling to survive. Gordon Ramseys concern for the owners is genuine and instead of getting booted off the show..the owners allow chef Ramsey to kick their restuarant into shape. Now lets face it.. there are chefs with inflated ego`s, who are resistant to change, but when your fighting for survival or seriously in debt..its amazing how some of these chefs are abit slow heeding Ramseys advice..I suppose thats where the drama is and these are the best episodes..

After the big opening, these restaurants must be set. They`ve got a new menu, new interior, lots of buzz in the local area. You can`t underestimate the power of Ramsey. Seriosuly I am impressed by his level of concern for the owners and his level of commitment. Its tough love, but thats what these owners need.

Has Gordon Ramsey influenced you? I mean in a good way? Ok i have caught myself on occasion saying ` Fu*k me` I am not a chef and try to avoid cooking, but Ramseys clear focus, determination and grit has inspired me in my own endevours. I also think I have become abit stronger, less of a push over. Not arrogant in any way, but motivated to give it 100% and if something is not right..i will say so and stick to my guns so to speak.

So thank you Gordon Ramsey. You`ve inspired us all to do better!

Gordon ramsey runs, i think 18 restaurants all over the globe. I will be visiting one of his restuarants in Tokyo. ( he has 2 of them, both in the Conrad hotel)

I will leave an update after the meal. Its my first time to visit a Ramsey restaurant and i am very excited. Lunch menu looks simple, delicious and reasonably prices. Anyone out there been to one of ramseys restaurants??
