Are you thinking about starting your own online business opportunity? Are you mentally prepared to operate as a home business entrepreneur? Your mindset is as important as the product you sell.

Why? If you have a self defeating mindset all the tools and mentors in the world will not help you become successful on the internet. Tools are good for strategies and techniques and can help you build a viable business. But without that positive mindset you will never be as prosperous as you could be.

So what is that right mindset?

You must know you will succeed.You focus on your outcome not the past. Many new online business owners focus too much on the failures within their business. Every failure should be viewed as an opportunity to learn. Accept it, learn from it and move on.

You must be willing to do whatever it takes to reach the success you’re dreaming. That might mean doing something you feel is a waste of time or you don’t understand how you’ll really benefit from it.

A lot has been written about the Law of Attraction. If you don’t know about this you should study up on this law. The law states “Like Attracts Like”. If you think positive thoughts you will attract positive results. If you think negative thoughts you will push away the things you really desire.

One aspect of the law is you must visualize your success. Create a list that defines the biggest goals in your personal life and your business opportunity, and then visualize what it will be like when you have them, be detailed in your visualization.

Make a list of your goals place them in special places all over your home and office and review them every day. Read them in the morning when you get up and in the evening before you go to bed.

This is developing your mindset for good things. When you begin to take massive action to achieve those goals you will begin to see positive things happening in your personal life and in your home business.

You may think this advice sounds silly and may want to skip this step in the building of your home business. But don’t. If you talk to any successful entrepreneur they will tell you their success is because they believed in themselves.

If I had a dime for every time I've heard this I would be a rich person. Employees never move away from a job they are unhappy with to start their own online business opportunity because they think they don't have what it takes.

If they would read books by Robert Kiyosaki, Bill Gates, Robert Allen, Dan Kennedy and oh so many more they would know that making money in a business opportunity is not about what you know. What really keeps the employee an employee is fear. And mostly fear of failure, fear of what people will think of them. So the stay in what they "think" is a secure job.

What they should be doing is taking control. Owning a business is not about how much you know it’s about how much you feel. Don’t believe me, take this short quiz and see what you think at the end.

1. Write down three of your top wins or accomplishments to date. The win could be finishing high school or college, landing the job in the field of your dreams, marrying the love of your life, having children. This will be different for everyone…

2. Now pick one of the top three events that exude the strongest feelings within you. Then make a list of the qualities and characteristics that led you to that achievement. How where you thinking, what where you feeling? A quality might me trust, passion, focus, honesty or enthusiasm. Come up with as many of them as you can think of.

3. Now…this is the fun part. Mark an (m) for mindset or an (s) for skill related next to each quality or characteristic it most applies to.

So what where your results? What did you see? Same thing I did I’ll bet. Most are mindset or emotional aspects.

Your success is in the way you think, what you believe in and how you apply that you your daily activities. If you think something is not going to work you can bet it won’t. Now I’m not going to say that you don’t have to have some knowledge of building a business for success. However, it is not all you need to become a successful home business owner.

So as you ponder the results of this little activity, ponder your way to fulfilling your dreams. Start right now developing a plan to your success and out of your dead end job.

With all the home business opportunities out there to pick from how do you know what's right for you? Do you want to create your own product? Do you want to be an affiliate? Do you want to sell information material? How about eBay?

The best place to start when considering a home business opportunity is to make a list of the things that interest you. Most people start a list by thinking of hobbies but also think of interests. If you like to write you can publish your own e-book. Even that's not as hard as it sounds. You write the content and if you're not sure how to publish it you can outsource it to companies like Elance.com or Guru.com. And if you're not a writer you can outsource all of this and use your e-book as your business opportunity. There is a whole host of things to do with information products, CD's, DVS's, white papers, are just a few ideas.
