If you are planning to travel the world get a GSM phone. GSM enabled cell phones work almost anywhere in the world and offer extra security. Having a GSM means that you will always have a cell phone at hand in any emergencies or in the case you have any language difficulties you will have your GSM phone at hand.

What is GSM Phone?

An international cell phone is classified as a GSM mobile phone that operates on the GSM 900 and GSM 1800 frequency. An international cell phone with the appropriate sim card, will provide coverage in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Pacific Rim including Australia. A world cell phone with the GSM 1900 frequency will expand coverage to include the United States, Canada and a growing part of South America.

What is a Sim Card?

The SIM card is a tiny, rectangular card found in all GSM cell phones that acts as an ID card for your handset. Usually located behind the battery, a SIM card stores your phone number and is needed to activate a mobile for use. If the card is taken out of the handset, it stops working, and it is no longer associated with your phone number.

When traveling to a new country you will want to get a Sim card from that country to avoid paying extremely high fees on your calls. Getting a prepaid Sim card will also give you a local phone in the area that you are staying in.

Make sure that the phone you buy is unlocked. If your phone is locked this means that only one specific card can be used with it. If you want to use a Sim card you won’t be able to. This will mean high fees to make and receive calls.

Teletial.com offers unlocked cell phones that work worldwide and with any Sim card.
