Game Lodges South Africa

Oh For A Game Lodge Stay!

I have done nothing but work through each and every holiday the past year or so and to be honest, it really is taking it's toll on me. I would do just about anything to get some time off and simply relax. If I could choose the perfect holiday I would go to one of South Africa's gorgeous game lodges or game reserves and simply put my feet up!

Game lodges in South Africa just seem to offer it all. Luxurious accommodation, sumptuous cuisine and award winning South African wines. Game viewing, bird watching and even spoor tracking are also very attractive activities for me and if all else fails, I can lie back in a hammock and read the afternoons away.

Rest and relaxation seems to be the order of the day when staying at a game lodge or game reserve in South Africa and when I get the chance, this is exactly what I plan to do!

My opinion on Game Lodges?

I find game lodge holidays absolutely exhilerating and relaxing at the same time! Booking our game lodge accommodation for each holiday just never seems to lose its lustre. Each game lodge or game farm in South African has something special to offer.

What we enjoy most about game lodge stays are the fantastic facilities that these establishments have to offer. We enjoy waking early in the morning for a nice warm cup of coffee and an adventure out into the bush for some game viewing. Enjoying a lazy afternoon relaxing at the main lodge or picnicking before enjoying sundowners while watching the big red African sun set are also a major draw card for those of us who spend our daily lives slogging away in the busy city.

Game lodge stays are most affordable and enjoyable for individuals, couples and even families and groups. We are off on our next African game lodge holiday and only hope that you will soon know what it is that keeps us returning for more!

More on South African Game Lodges

Imagine this : African sunsets with animals roaming freely in front of you while you sip your evening cocktails. Or while your tour guide slowly creeps the land cruiser along the road to where a lion and lioness are lying under the tree after a hunt. Early morning rising to the sound of the early birds in the trees animatedly chatting to each other, oblivious of your stifled early morning yawn. Crickets chirping loudly in the backround while you pull on your clothes getting ready for your morning game drive. This is the type of holiday expected when you visit any Game Lodge, and the type that many think is so far out of reach. But a holiday like that is within reach of most budgets. And this is what we are going to explore.

There are so many places or attractions to choose from when planning your holiday. But how many people think of a Game Lodge? Why don't people want to visit and appreciate the beauty our country has to offer? And what about the animals? Most of them now endangered, but if you can get to see them in their natural environment... as close as to what they used to be before man started killing them off for selfish reasons. An experience of a life time is what it is. And enjoying hearing the sound of the elephants calling each other across the valley... these are the noises i'd rather hear than the honking of a car anyday!

There are many Game Lodges to choose from of course. But where do you really want to go? What is the main attraction for you? The suggestion is, Zululand has so much to offer. There is the history of Shaka Zulu going back to the 18th century among the Game lodges and close to the sea too. Here you will come across Leopard Mountain Lodge. Here, you'll overlook views of unspoilt bushland and forests. And the variety of animals is great, ranging from Rhino's to Giraffe, Zebra, elephants and a wide variety of bird life. For those who are looking for other activities, Scuba diving is available nearby as well as some tiger fishing for those who are in for a bit of a challenge.

With 5 star accommodation, I don't think anyone can ask for a better Game Lodge getaway.
