The Garmin Forerunner is one of the hottest GPS products on the market right now. It's become a best seller at Amazon and countless other places - but why? What makes the Garmin Forerunner so popular? And is it actually a good product? That's what I asked myself when I bought the Garmin Forerunner 305 and gave it a test drive. The Forerunner comes in different models with different feature specifications, but in this Garmin Forerunner review I will talk about the 305 model, which is the most popular one. It is a personal running computer you can take with you when you go jogging or running, or doing other sports that involve traveling distances - and will provide you with lots of information that will be extremely helpful if you want to maximize your sports potential and do sports in a healthy way. So what does it do? The Garmin Forerunner features 3 data screens that can show things like average running speed, burned calories, elevation and many other things. It's quite an amazing piece of tech and I was highly impressed by the accuracy of the data, which you can later track and compare to previous results you achieved.

However, the main feature that sets the Garmin Forerunner apart from its competition is the extensive GPS feature set. What does this mean? Well, the Forerunner will be able to exactly track the distance you are running and save this data, so that you can later - for example - import it on your PC and look at the distance you ran on a map. You can then combine this data with other information provided by the Garmin Forerunner, for example your average speed - and thus, you are able to see at which points during your journey you were slower, faster and so on.

And all of that in such a handy, small device? Yep! When I bought the Forerunner, I was just as worried about the size as anyone currently reading this is - because as a sportsperson, you really shouldn't be carrying unnecessary weight around. But the Garmin Forerunner 305 is amazingly compact and lightweight. You will simply forget about it when doing sports, and that's a good thing! In stark contrast to that, the 305's screen is big, clear and easily readable - definitely a plus when you're in the middle of a marathon and struggling to even make out single digits. That won't happen with this device, I can promise.

Overall, as an experienced runner, I couldn't be more happy with the Garmin Forerunner 305. If tracking your own performance is even just of remote importance to you, then you absolutely have to get this device. Garmin has crafted a sleek GPS gadget chock-full of useful sensors and data sources that will enable every athlete or sportsperson to reach new heights.
