thinking twice about necessities

Well, I just got back from gassing up my car and getting groceries at Wal-Mart. Our gas here in north idaho is up to $4.05 per gallon, which I know is cheaper than a lot of places, but it sucks up here because everything else is more expensive then other places in the country. So I put $40 in my car, and it wasn't even done filling up, but I had to stop it at $40 because that's all the budget will allow. I then went on to Wal-Mart to get our weekly groceries. It's pretty sad when you have to pick and choose what's on your list because things have gone up so much. I had shredded cheese on my list, which has been cheaper lately than buying a loaf and shredding it. The package of great value that I bought last week for $6.98, went up to $9.98!! OUCH! I ended up with a loaf of cheese for $6.98 to shred up. The only thing that we buy every week and really enjoy is doritos. I used to be able to buy a family size bag for $3.00, this week they had gone up to $3.98, another OUCH! so we aren't having doritos until they go back down.

Through the whole store I kept thinking, how has are country gotten to the point where you have to pick and choose between necessities! I had to cut things out like Red potatoes, Cucumbers & Celery! I have done several things lately to really cut back, and now I need to cut back on necessities, it really sucks! The Doritos and Red Potatoes were the last straw! I hope that we are all learning something right now, and that this country gets headed in the right direction soon. My Mom keeps saying that something good has got to happen soon, I sure hope so because our country can't go on like this anymore!

It is frustrating! i think we are all having to make choices that we didn't think we would ever have to make.
