Gastritis Its Symptoms and Treatments

Gastritis is the inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It is the most common form of stomach upset. Gastric ulcer is a wound in the stomach walls or in the small intestine.


Symptoms of Gastritis:

  • Dyspepsia (bad digestion)
  • Vomiting
  • Bloating
  • Diarrhea
  • Pain in the pit of the stomach.
  • Pain if alcohol or hot peppers are ingested, the pain will increase 2 or 3 hours later.

In case of severe ulcers an acidic vomiting or bleeding can occur. The excrement may be black in color from the blood in it.

Causes of Gastritis:

  • Bacterial infection.
  • Excessive intake of alcohol, coffee, fried food and spicy food.
  • Too much stress.
  • Overuse of drugs (including aspirin).
  • Ingestion of poison or corrosive chemicals.

Gastritis is sometimes associated with some infectious diseases like; Tuberculosis, syphilis, influenza and measles.

Recommended Treatments:

  • Eat the following food; Milk, Cream, Cheese, Oatmeal, Bananas, Boiled potatoes, Hard Boiled eggs, Steamed vegetables, Oat bran
  • Vitamins A, E and C
  • B complex, B5, B6 and B12
  • Iron
  • Licorice has been proven to be very effective in the treatment of gastritis and stomach and duodenal ulcers.
  • Eat low fat diet.
  • Bee Propolis - natural antibiotic, kills bacteria and virus. Strengthens immune system
  • Beta-carotene - powerful antioxidant, repairs and maintains body tissue.
  • Alfalfa - has high alkaline and fiber content.
