The Gloucester is located on High Street West close to the Metro and Bus Interchange.

The management is now stable and the menu has changed recently. I've been eating my sunday lunch at the gloucester for a year now regular as clockwork and have never been disappointed.

The bar offers a choice of beef,lamb,chicken or pork for £4.95 and during the week also has a range of pasta dishes available.

The gloucester also has a good duke box with a wide selection of rock,soul,dance and pop to choose from.

A pretty good selection - with the barmen favouring tracks by James, Echo and the Bunnymen, Al Stewart, and Elvis.

The Jukiebox at the Nags Head is now free.The prices have been reduced on several beers and the bar has become connected to the rest of the high street as a result and has far more customers than it had last year.

The jukebox in the Metropole is not free but has a large selection of World Music and reggae which the Nags doesn't have, so when i'm in a world music phase I usually find myself in one of the corners at the Met.

Another bar to consider is The Gloucester, which exists in its own world close to Gateshead Magistrates Court and Gateshead Police Station. The management changed recently and the jukebox includes classic tracks by Hawkwind amongst others,

The film was shot in 2007 and shows the tyne bridge, saltwell park, the get carter car park, and various places in gateshead.

The park lane is a traditional bar which caters for a range of locals. The bar offers all day breakfasts from 10am and roast beef or lamb is available most days for £3.50 including a sweet.

The daily specials include mince and dumplings, corned beef pie and fish & chips.
