Gay Men In Panties | How To Tell Your Boyfriend You Like Lingerie

Updated on October 12, 2009

This is the first time I have written for gay men who want to wear panties, and I do so at the request of a gay man who wants to know how to break the news to his boyfriend. It's interesting, though perhaps not surprising that it has taken some time for this question to come up. Contrary to public opinion and what might appear to be logic, straight men actually wear panties much more than gay men do. Gay men, being gay and therefore attracted to other men actually tend to be attracted to masculine traits, rather than feminine ones. It makes sense when you think about it.

So, as I mentioned, recently a gentleman reader of the gay persuasion wrote to me and asked me what I thought about telling his boyfriend, a no frills kinda guy, about the fact that he likes to wear panties and lingerie.

There is one point of confusion here that it would be wise for us to clear up. I'm not entirely certain whether or not the boyfriend is a no frills type of guy when it comes to his own taste in clothing, or whether it comes to his taste in men. I'm tempted to think that if he chose a man who wants to wear panties, there is a good chance that aforementioned chap who secretly harbors a desire to wear panties has other feminine traits about him as well, this slight touch of femininity may even be what attracted his 'no frills' man to him in the first place.

If this is the case, then his love of lingerie may not be the big issue he is perceiving it to be.

If, on the other hand, Mr 'No Frills' chose Mr Wants Panties because he thought Mr Wants Panties was a no frills guy after all, then there could be trouble.

My advice in this situation is the same advice I would give a heterosexual couple. If you are still in the early stages of the relationship, now is the best time to let your lover know of your preferences, wants and desires. If you have been together for a considerable length of time, then the game has changed somewhat, he has come to think he knows you and he probably has set expectations for the relationship which your panty wearing could very well blow to smithereens.

If you are in the early stages, let him know as soon as possible. Broach it in a fun, light, and playful way. Read this article on the importance of telling early for some tips, and read the comments too, there is some solid advice there from men who have been there before you. If you are in a more established relationship, read this article, How To Tell Your Wife You Wear Panties (apologies for the gender specific language, however being as men and women are both human, the same advice really does apply.)
