Gemma Garrett is the 2008 Miss Great Britain and Miss Belfast.

On the back of these titles she has also attempted to get involved in the political world. During May 2008 she stood in the Nantwich and Crewe by-election for the self launched Beauties For Britain Party. Gemma failed to impress voters and she was placed last with 113 votes.

In July 2008 Gemma again stood in the by-election for Haltemprice and Howden which was caused by David Davis attempt to raise awareness of "British Liberties". No doubt helped by the absence of a Labour or Liberal Democrat candidate, The Miss Great Britain Party came fith with 521 votes.

Aside from Politics Gemma Garrett has appeared in Nuts Magazine and The Daily Star and is the 2008 face of the British Grand Prix. In late 2008 she is due to appear in a Movie with Dolph Lundgren titled Direct Contact.

"I want Westminster to be home to as many glamorous and confident women as say, Rome or Paris. Or even Brussels or Berlin.

"We shall campaign on issues we know truly concern voters - like beauty, Britishness and a fair deal for working women."

"And I want that new emphasis on beauty to extend into every aspect of British life.

"If women should look and feel beautiful it makes Britian a happier place."
