Final thought: - Do not leave it, until it is too late. Ask your parents about their, childhood. The schools they attended and how they met. Write their story of events down and any interesting times during their lifetime. Relive their life, with them.

Thanks for that. Yes we left it too late.
These are wonderful links to have posted here. I am an avid Genealogist by hobby, and wish to second your advice to ask anyone who is still alive to supply you with all they know. It is much easier to get it from someone who is alive than trying to figure it all out later.... Thanks for all the info.
Very glad to help you. And I wish you all the luck in the world as it takes so long and much frustration trying to find records.
Excellent information, Another tip for folks is to make sure that you put names, dates, places etc on your photo's so you will not have a box of old photo's and can't remember who anyone is.
That is very very true. We tried to find out who people were by there photos and we matched them up completely wrong. So I agree with your comments thanks.
i cant find my family tree i now i my great great great grandfather was daniel boon but how can i find the family tree? please help me im only 11 years old
hi victoria, you need to start right from the beginning. Write down who your parents are and all other relatives. then gradually work backwards. Searching on the net working on one side of your family line. Start from say your fathers side and do a search on the net. never add people until u prove that it is the right line. check out my other genealogy links for more help. you need to verify information by checking the birth certificates.
Great!! Thanks for these helpful tips, as I am planning to do this soon. Many Blessings! ~K
Kim, I hope some of it will help your find your loved ones. Mind you will need to be patient in looking for them, and make sure not to add them to your family tree until you verify them for sure.
You are so right, don't wait to ask those questions. Love the help you have provided here. Another one for my bookmarked lists
Duchess o blunt. Also keep good records. I had a web page but it has now gone. As I lost my access to it so they deleted it after a while.
I hope you had a backup of what was on the site?
Duchess, NOOOOOO. Luckily my daughter has on her computer. I formatted my computer and the backup disk stopped working. But she has got it all thats the main thing.
Phew! lucky lady :)
yes your not wrong.

Good information. It's so true you shouldn't leave it to late. I wish I'd asked my Mum and Dad more about the family while they were still around.
