These are great tires.  I had them put on several weeks ago and I immediately noticed better handling and a quieter ride.   I'll tell you more later on but let me tell you about the tires a little bit first.  This is my experience with the General Grabber HTS tires and buying them online.

I've been researching the best tires for my Honda Pilot and the General Grabber HTS is rated best and is getting very good reviews. I'm about to order a set and I'll let you know how the new tires do. In the mean time take a look at what is being said about the HTS. The Grabber HTS is an SUV and Light Truck tire in the "all season tires" category. However as you will see, this tire also performs well compared to snow tires and off road tires. Consumer Reports places General at the top of the list with this tire. Typically there are trade offs between traction, rolling resistance, noise factors and comfort but the Grabber seems to be able to roll all the best into one. I can't publish the Consumer Report in whole but here is the news release from Reuters.

TireRack tested the Grabber HTS against the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenze and the Pirelli Scorpion and the General beat these two top of the line tires in every category (except one tie with the Bridgestone in cornering). Here are the results from from TireRack.

My new General Grabber HTS Tires

I just had my Grabbers put on recently. I was really surprised to notice a difference in normal driving. I had seen the tests results and the stats and knew that in crisis situations and poor driving conditions, the Grabbers tested to function the best. That is significant because when I have to maneuver or stop quickly I want my tires to perform. But, I began noticing the responsiveness right away in normal driving conditions. The distributor actually said I may experience less response due to the newness of the tires.   My experience compared to my old, original equipment tires was just the opposite. It sounds cliche'ish but they really did  grab the road.

I also noticed a quieter ride. I can't quantify it for you but I can tell you it makes a difference when I drive.  Anyway, I just got these on and I am more than pleased. If you need tires the Grabber HTS is the way to go.

I tried to stretch my other tires to get as much as I could out of them. Now I wish I would have put these on sooner. I thought that best safety at the best price was a no brainer but now I'm convinced even more. This is a no brainer. Tire Rack sent all the stuff with the tires. My installation turned out to be even less expensive than I planned.

These tires get 2 thumbs and even 2 big toes up. My hearty recommendation!

I wanted to let you know about buying tires online. I talked to one local retailer who discouraged me when I was comparing prices. He said that no one would put the tires on for me. I found what he said not to be true. The local tire store here said they would put them on for about $63. I also called the local Honda dealer who would put them on for a little over $90. Overall that still comes out better than the local dealers price.
