For many women who have been infected with genital warts caused by the HPV or human papillomavirus it can be an extremely uncomfortable and shameful disease for genital warts treatment. What woman wants to explain to her new boyfriend or significant other that they have a sexually transmitted disease called genital warts. It can be very difficult to explain and face when dealing with others. There will always be fears that the woman will be harshly judged and rejected. Women with genital warts often are considered to have had unprotected sex, multiple sex partners, or was sexually active at an early age to have such a disease. Pregnancy for most women trigger dormant infection to develop. During pregnancy any active infection can worsen. Special precautions must be taken for women during delivery to ensure their child's safety. Genital warts can seriously damage a baby being born. Newborn babies can contract RRP or recurrent respiratory papillomatosis through a mother with genital warts if the baby is not properly handled during delivery. This disease causes warts to appear at a fast pace blocking the baby's airway which can result in death. It is recommended that all women infected with genital warts should have regular pap smears to detect any abnormal changes which can put a woman at risk for cervical cancer. Some women with genital warts experience urinary obstruction or bleeding which can be a sign of a serious problem.

Genital warts in women generally occurs in moist areas along the labia minora as well as the vaginal opening. Genital warts appear after viral particles penetrate skin and deeper into the mucosal layers through microscopic abrasions in the genital area. This process takes place during sexual activity between individuals. Someone who has sexual contact with an individual who is infected with genital warts generally develops the disease within three or so months. People with genital warts often experience discharge, painless bumps, and itching. Once you are infected with HPV or human papillomavirus it may take months to years before signs of genital warts actually begin to appear. All genital warts infection may not be easily noticed. Genital warts caused by HPV can occur at practically any age. Like majority of sexually transmitted diseases genital warts is extremely contagious. There is 50% risk of contracting genital warts during the very first sexual encounter with an infected individual. So, it is not always a woman's lack of morals which can cause her to have genital warts. You can easily be in a committed relationship with someone who does not know they have genital warts who pass it on to you.
