In trying times people always look to their leaders for guidance, strength, and reassurance. Even the strongest, most iron willed of us can lose faith or begin to question ourselves and our place in the world. At this point, a strong and well defined leader is needed.

George S. Patton is a hero of mine, and he is on a short list. He has been for many years since I started researching World War II history in my early teenage years. I have come to understand his critical role in history and how it can be replicated again to destroy another scourge on the Earth. In Patton's time, it was Nazi (National Socialist Party) Germany. In our time, it's islamic fascism.

About 65 years later we have George W. Bush for President. While Patton was never President, and never wanted to be, he is certainly far beyond anything George W. Bush could ever hope to be. I will illustrate my point as follows:

First, Patton was unquestionably America first. Whereas G.W. Bush is an internationalist, obsessed with too much free trade, that likes to hold hands with Saudi Princes.

Second, Patton is far superior in military matters and strategy. Whereas G.W. hired one of the most incompetent political hacks in Donald Rumsfeld. Additionally. Patton was trained and taught at West Point and the Virginia Military Institute, while G.W. was playing secret society games at Yale.

Third, Patton is a veteran of two World Wars and put down several attempted communist uprisings in the 1930's alongside General Douglas MacArthur. Whereas Bush was hiding in the National Guard pretending to be a pilot during Vietnam.

Fourth, Patton was a stirring speech giver and knew how to get his men pumped up and focused. Whereas G.W. can barely string together a sentence without stumbling all over himself. There are many times where Bush just sounds incoherent.

Fifth, Patton scared the living hell out the Nazi's, not to mention the Soviets. Even the Third Reich's best general Erwin Rommel refused to face him. Whereas, Bush only scares the American people with his obsession of too much free trade that is raping our industrial complex, a tepid war policy, and an out of control government corporate complex.

Sixth, Patton was an accomplished athelete and a dead eye shot with a gun. Whereas, Bush seemed more interested in games of drinking and does not know how to let the military use it's guns. Just look at the phony, made up cases against our troops of Haditha and Hamdaniya in Iraq. Of which, Bush has allowed to continue as a charade, with the government's case weak and falling apart.

Seventh, Patton was an accomplished and astute historian. Whereas, Bush is supposed to be a history major, but cannot even pronounce the Magna Carta correctly. He called it Magna Carter. Is there a new hollyweird star I don't know about?

Eighth, Patton was only interested in total victory and looking good while accomplishing it in the fastest time. Whereas, Bush seems to think that needlessly long and protracted war is good for the country. Any history major or amatuer historian knows that long protracted wars are never good for a nation and become increasingly unpopular as they drag on.

Ninth, Patton was not afraid of getting into someone's face, stepping on toes, or even disregarding an order to get the job done. Whereas, Bush seems to be playing where's waldo whenever leadership is needed.

And tenth, Patton could not stand politicians. He believed they were all whores. And those are his words. And even though he was governor of Bavaria after World War II and could not stand being an administrator, he still did a far better job, with fewer resources, than Bush could ever hope to do. Whereas, Bush has near limitless resources to do what needs to be done, and he just won't do it.

That's Patton ten and Bush zero, with an extra two points going to Patton for making the Nazi's deathly afraid of him.

Don't listen to the Bush butt kissers that are Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. They are party hacks driven by drivel and agendas. They make every excuse for Bush and don't put his feet to the fire as any impartial person would do.

I will leave you with a Patton quote, ";A good strategy can be ruined by bad tactics, good tactics can save a bad strategy.";
