Visit Haunted Georgia Hospitals

Why would people want to visit Georgia haunted hospitals? The main reason is because people believe that a lot of ghosts probably hang around a hospital after they die there. Many people have visited hospitals, either ones that are abandoned or currently in use, and have reported hearing sounds, recording EVP's and even seeing apparitions. Haunted hospitals are favorite places to visit for ghost hunters or those who are looking for a good scare.

Since Georgia is one of my favorite states to visit, I've compiled a list of places that you may visit on your next ghost hunt in this state. Be sure to ask permission before you visit any of these sites, as some are on private property.

Hospital Ghost Stories

Old Douglas Hospital. This building is currently used for education. People have reported seeing a typewriter working by itself at night and a ghost nurse has been seen walking the halls with a tray in hand.

Dunwoody Insane Asylum. People have reported feeling cold breezes and seeing ghostly bodies lying in the basement morgue. Footsteps have also been heard walking down the halls when no one is there.

Hawkinsville State Hospital. EVP's have been recorded in this gothic-looking hospital and paranormal investigators have experienced many cold spots here.

The Warren House in Jonesboro. This home was used as a hospital during the Civil War. Many people have reported seeing a Confederate soldier carrying a candle and looking out the window at the graveyard across the street.

Madison Old Civil War Hospital. Footsteps have been heard walking the floors at night and a man in black has been seen at the top of the stairs. People have also reported hearing a bouncing ball in the hallways and a ghostly figure of a lady dressed in blue has been seen here.

Marietta Kennesaw House. This house was used as a Civil War hospital and is now a museum. People have reported seeing an entire room full of doctors and soldiers in the basement and first floors. A woman dressed in gray has also been seen in the building, reportedly the former owners of the home.

Savannah Marine Hospital. This hospital was used to house sailors back from the sea. Many were quarantined to prevent disease outbreaks. The spirits of dead sailors have been seen walking through the building and in the windows at night.

Savannah Telfair Hospital. A woman in a brown dress has been seen in this former ladies hospital.
