Cosmetic Surgery Prices
77Today's society looks on women and aging in a much different light than
it did years ago. Flawless skin and perfect bodies seem to be mandatory
for women to get ahead in some circles. The advances in medicine and
surgical procedures have prompted a surge in the number of cosmetic
procedures. Women no longer deal with the fears they did several
decades ago when cosmetic surgery was new. Depending on where you live
in the world, cosmetic surgery prices have also dropped.
Young girls flip through the pages of magazines and see nothing but
pencil thin models that have their imperfections air brushed out.
Unfortunately, these young girls don't know that these changes are commonly doctored. They grow up
believing that they have to be perfect, have to be thin, to get ahead
in life. This is, in some people's eyes, quite a shame. However, it's
simply a freedom that women can choose to have changes made to their appearance. This is the way things are. Plastic and cosmetic surgery are tools that are being utilized more often than ever these days to improve upon imperfections or signs of age.
Different parts of the country see interests in various procedures wax
and wane, but overall, here are the five most requested cosmetic
surgery procedures:
Breast Augmentation
A breast augmentation can mean either breast
reduction or increase. Many times, women opt to have a breast lift or increase in size to improve appearance. The entire shape and
size of the breast will change as will placement of certain parts of
breast tissue. Many women elect to have their breasts reduced when they
are over endowed. Having breasts that are too large for your frame can
cause serious back injury.
Cancer patients who have had a single or double mastectomy also have
breast reconstructive surgery that falls under the category of breast
augmentation for insurance purposes. The total estimated price for
breast augmentation is roughly $5000-$10000. Breast implant costs are not covered by medical insurance, as it's considered a purely cosmetic procedure.
Rhinoplasty Surgery Prices
Most people refer to this surgical procedure as a nose job. Surgeons can either reduce or enlarge the size of a patient's nose. They can also change the angle of the nose and it's placement on the face. Both men and women are partial to this procedure and it does not seem to know any age limitation, either. Rhinoplasty typically costs any where from $5,000 to $6,000.
Face Lift
Many women opt for a face lift surgery later in life. A face lift, or rhytidectomy, as it's often referred to can involve a number of facial adjustments, such as brow lifts, chin implants, brow lifts, and more. When they have wrinkles and their skin begins to sag, a face lift can give the appearance of a firmer neck and jaw line. The fat deposits are removed from around the face and the muscles are tightened, once this happens, the skin is draped tightly back over the face. This procedure is usually about $8,000 to $9,000.
Liposuction Cosmetic Surgery Prices
During liposuction, surgeons place a long skinny vacuum type tube inside of the body of the patient. This tube is placed just below the skin so that only fat accumulations are removed from the patient. This liposuction procedure, also referred to as liposculpture, is performed on the thighs, stomachs, buttocks and upper arms of patients, typically women. There are a small percentage of annual procedures that are completed on men. Liposuction usually runs around $2,500 per area and some physicians will give discounts for multiple areas being operated on at the same time.
Tummy Tuck
Many women who have had children, had rapid weight gain and loss, and those who have had repetitious abdominal surgeries are good candidates for tummy tucks. Both men and women who've undergone extensive weight loss procedures, and have extra skin that they cannot get rid of are also likely candidates for tummy tuck procedures. The procedure involves removing fatty tissue and skin from the abdomen, tightening the muscles and stretching the skin back over the abdomen. Cost of a tummy tuck is in the $6,000 to $8,000 range.
Cosmetic Surgery Prices Shouldn't Be Your Only Criteria
There are over 30 other standard cosmetic surgery procedures that are performed on a routine basis in hospitals and doctors offices across the country. These are just the 5 most routine cosmetic surgeries and the ball park figures of cost.
While no one wants to pay inflated plastic surgery prices it's important not to make the surgery cost your only criteria when seeking a cosmetic surgery procedure. When it comes to these surgeries getting the best treatment should always outweigh the cosmetic surgery prces. You often get what you pay for with surgrey, so always proceed with caution. Ask for information regarding these and other procedures or research them online.
