Get Motivated to Get Your Pre-baby Body Back
76Put the HOT in front of "Mom"
Finding the Mental Energy to Work Out!
You made it through the nine months, You squeezed a whole human being out of your body. You thought the physically demanding part was over -- wrong! Now, you're looking in the mirror with bags under your eyes looking at your breasts, belly, and bum - and wondering - am I melting? Why does my body suddenly look like a saggy, deflated balloon? What do you do when your body looks like it's trying to run away from your face?!
Well, labor doesn't end with childbirth- After that, you're faced with caring for your new baby as well as caring for your suddenly very squishy body! You're exhaused, your confidence is gone, your whole world is your new baby, and you simply don't have the motivation to even think about getting back in shape - let alone actually getting out of your recliner to DO something about it.
Many women (and believe it or not, some men) ask me what to do when motivation seems to be the major factor in getting back to business when it comes to your physique after having a baby. The ladies are generally too wrapped up in "mommyhood" to think about themselves.
It's very, very common for a woman to neglect herself after she's had a baby. But, at some point, she realizes she's not looking as hot as she would like and that it's starting to affect different areas of her life ... usually in the bedroom or the dressing room.
When a woman loses confidence in her appearance, her sex life suffers - and let's face it, when her sex life suffers - so does HIS! In addition to cooling down the bedroom, a loss of physical confidence can spread to other areas. Women tend to start dressing a little more "frumpy" and they put less effort into hair and skincare. Pretty soon, they have developed a whole new personality.
So - If you're struggling to get motivated to get yourself back into shape ... consider this - You owe it not only to yourself, but to your new child and your sweetheart. You've embarked on a whole new chapter of life, and in order to promote health and well being, as well as maintain enough energy to joyfully care for your growing baby, you NEED to shed the pounds and maintain health. Your hubby is counting on you to make this transition as seemless as possible because his world is being rocked too. Like it or not ladies, you are the heart of your home. You are the glue that holds things together, and you are the shoulder that the whole world leans on --- you're gonna need enegery for that.
Your body has just done an amazing thing, and you were strong enough to handle it. Nothing can compare to the physical demands of carrying a baby, and labor and delivery takes as much effort as running a marathon! A body that can handle THAT can certainly handle getting off the couch and back into shape.
Let's face it - this is why women have the babies. We were created to handle it. And most men (no offense to you guys) would have one cramp and shoot themselves!
So, if doing it for yourself, your sex life, or your skinny jeans isn't motivation enough - Do it for your baby and your spouse. Chances are, you make the world go round for them. They need you to be healthy, happy, safe, and well. They need to see your strength and your compassion. You can't adequately care for others if you're not caring for yourself. Be all you can be by being all you should be - healthy!
