If you haven't heard of DirectMatches, before, it's the Myspace of the business minded. If you want to know more about DirectMatches, I've posted more about it on my blog, or you can go directly to their setup page.

I just wanted to put together a quick Hub to describe one of the methods I use to get traffic with DirectMatches. There are many ways to get traffic with DirectMatches. I use several methods, but will describe the method I call "welcome letter with a free gift."

Why Does This System Work?

Since DirectMatches is specifically for business networking, it's a huge targeted list to steal leads from. Almost every member is involved in some type of business system or network marketing business and are trying to sell their business to the other members. Most of them are just doing what their upline has told them to do and aren't getting any results. Those people will get discouraged and look for a better offer.

How the System Works

This method works best with the Firefox browser. I've described why I use the Firefox browser on this hub. If you don't have Firefox, you can go to www.firefox.com to download it free.

Before I get started, I prepare a generic letter that I want to send out to all new DirectMatches members. The letter I use is very simple. I just says "Welcome to the DirectMatches community. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions about any of the features of DirectMatches. Please allow me to offer you a gift for joining our group."

Then I give them a link where they can pick up their free gift. The link will, first, take them to a capture page. Once they've provided me with their name and email address, they are directed to the download page for a package of free software and internet marketing information that I've put together.

Be sure to give them something valuable and useful. You will lose all credibility with them if you are giving them junk, and it will completely defeat the purpose of using this process.

Getting Down To Business

Here are the steps that I take in this process.

1. Open DirectMatches to your profile page

2. Follow the center column down until you find a box that says "online, most active, new." These are links for sending messages to other members. For this system, we're interested in just the new members.

3. With the Ctrl key depressed, click on each of the links to "new" members. (If you have Firefox, this will open new tabs for each member. If you are using Internet Explorer for your browser, it may open tabs or it may open several new browsers, depending on which version of the software you are using,)

4. Copy and paste your pre-written letter to each new member.

5. Close each tab, except your profile page.

6. Going back to the links to "new" members on the profile page, click "more" and repeat the steps with the next group of members.

Using this method, you should be able to send out dozens of letters in 10-15 minutes.

The Follow-Up

Within a day of sending out the welcome letters, the recipients will begin to send replies. About ninety percent of the replies will be reverse marketing techniques where they will offer you their product or program.

Remember, social networking is about building relationships. It's very obvious from the responses that I get that most people don't understand that. I don't know about you, but I'm way to skeptical to purchase something from a person that I don't know or trust. I think most people are like me in that regard.

So why would you use that approach on others when you know that it doesn't work on you? My follow-up approach is to try to start a conversation. I have several pre-written letters that I have saved and will use here, depending on the situation.

Each of these letters, though, offers some encouragement, information, or advice, and another link to my free gift page with an urging to accept the gift from me. My attempt is to try to detract from the sales pitch and instead create conversation.

In Summary

DirectMatches, in my opinion, isn't a good place to "sell, sell, sell." It is, however, a good place to find targeted leads that you can sell to, if you understand how to use it.

As an added bonus, you can earn an extra income stream by referring people to Direct Matches. How can you beat a deal like that?

I have had 12000 or so profile Views the only problem I have with the site is that it's very cluttered and Hard to Understand now I am starting to use it a little more and have received traffic for there much more than from twitter which I have spent countless hours on non target traffic.

DirectMatches, in my opinion, isn't a good place for selling. If you look for targeted leads Directmatches is a good place to find the people that you can sell to, if you understand how to use it in a professional manner.

To earn an extra income stream by referring people to Direct Matches is an added bonus. How can you beat a deal like that?
