Sony Shock PS2 Beats PS3

PS2 Or PS3, which is the most popular
Official figures released by the NPD Group in April suggest the, the Playstation 3 was knocked back in the ranks for sixth place and was beaten by an unusual competitor: its predecessor, the Playstation 2.
BIG BROTHER STILL BOSS
A leap 50% in Playstation 2 sales makes for the dazzling change, the increase in sales likely prompted by the system's price cut on April 1, a move which apparently added to the interest in the nine-year old platform.
The success of the PS2 was most likely the only golden egg of April for Sony Execs. Nintendo platforms continued to dominate the top spots, the Wii came second and courtesy of the just-launched DSi the DS came both first and third, with over 1 million sales in April, the Xbox 360 was down over last April, however still beat all of Sony’s efforts with a solid fourth place and remains on course for a record-breaking year.
9 Year Old PS2
Both the Playstation 3 and PSP show disappointing results, with the PS3 with its worst performance in over 18 months coming sixth, and the PSP a very disappointing seventh with a total of 116,000 sales -- down over 30% on the previous month.
The news has bloomed persistent rumours of price cuts on Sony's PS3. The ps3 base model is approximately $150 to $200 more expensive than its rivals the Wii and Xbox 360. Industry news site says we will see a $100 cut in the price of the $400 Playstation
So if you're contemplating taking the Sony Playstation plunge by buying the ps3 you might be best to wait and see what June has in store.
