Email Autoresponders are necessary to start your email marketing campaign. An autoresponder will be the management tool that you will use for your campaigns. It will house all the email address you collected and the message series or autoresponder series (to be exact) that you will send to your list (email address of those who signed-up to your initial offer).

If you are really serious about internet marketing, the first you will have to set-up is an autoresponder. Infact email marketing is the only promotion technique available online that will really make you money and allow you to profit by just pressing some buttons. With email marketing it is possible to let go of all the other techniques and standards in internet marketing and simply set-up your autoresponder series, build your list, and still manage a lucrative online business.

Based on my observation GetResponse is the no. 2 largest email marketing website. However I could be wrong. I don't have the data to back it up but since I'm always on the look out for hot Internet marketing tools, I always encounter GetResponse. 

Their service allows you to upload your own list if you have one already. They also provide different tools to get you started if you don't have a list yet. They have web forms tools for creating a sign-up form for your website, they allow you to define a campaign. It's actually a series of autoresponder messages that they automatically send to those who sign-up to your list. The best thing they do in my opinion is that they allow you to buy leads. Yes, you can buy a list from them. This is the fastest way to start building your list. I wasn't able to determine how much it will cost you to buy a list since I'm on a free account with them and they only allow premium members to purchase leads. But the facilities are available. So if you are a bit lazy to start building a list and you have the money, then just buy a leads list from them. 

GetResponse DashBoard

The dashboard presents a simple four function interface to users. This gives users some focus, and prevents users from getting stuck due to so much menu options. The truth is GetResponse have so many options and features available but isn't it nice to be presented with the initial 4 general modules and start from there than to be presented an entire list of available options and not know what to do? 

The four features available in the main dashboard provides users with the function to create messages, create list, create surveys, and check stats. To me they are indeed the most important functions that one should focus on. When I started with getresponse's old interface I was so confused that I didn't use it at all. It was confusing. I had no idea what to do. However with the new interface I can see what needs to be done in a clear way. 

Creating messages is one of the functions you should focus you attention on. Your messages will be the salesman that will convince people on your list to buy whatever it is that you are offering. 

What veteran internet marketers recommend is to create a friendly toned message that informs while containing links back to an affiliate product. For example you can discuss the benefits of training a pet. How easy life will be without cleaning after their litter. What they could expect from their pet once they are trained, then tell them how hard it would be to teach pet without proper knowledge, however you should also indicate that with the proper information anybody can teach their own pet, then tell them that with the "affiliate product" you have they can get their pet trained in just a week or two. However make sure that you're product is that effective otherwise look for something else..

The above example gives you an idea on how to go about sending autoresponder messages. Getresponse can further improve how you are perceived by your subscribers by allow HTML in your email. What it does is that it formats your email from boring to eye catching. WIth HTML emails you can include pictures that further highlights your point. In the above example you can include a happy pet owner playing some tricks with his dog. This will give you better credibility. But if you don't want to use this feature then you could always go back to sending plain old text. 

This is the part where it gets interesting. Upon starting this activity, you will begin to become a real internet marketer. Don't know why? Simple, to create a list you must do several things that real internet marketers do. That includes building a site or a blog to house your sign-up form, then promote the site or blog to attract subscribers. You will even do the basic thing that most internet marketers employ to entice subscribers, that is "ethical bribing" or giving away enticing ebooks or product packages to make visitors subscribe to your list. 

This technique is very common among "real" internet marketers. Observe all of the landing pages or sales pages you've just visited. I'm sure you'll realize the common feature is the opt-in box which is either on a pop-up form or on the visible top-right corner of the site and features a very enticing product giveaway. 

GetResponse provides you with the necessary tools to build your own "webform" to capture that very important subscriber email information. After that you can send them your autoresponder messages and if you press their buttons with your messages they just might buy from you. 

Know that you have a basic understanding of how to handle an autoresponser, in our case GetResponse, I would recommend you get your feet wet and try it out as soon as possible. Start building a list if you are serious about Internet marketing.
