In a friendly voice - "Hi John, Its Jane. I just wanted to let you know I appreciate what you did for me. please call so I can thank you in person"

See how we use BOTH curiosity and self interest in there? John just HAS to ring Jane "what did I do?" & "What does she appreciate?" Is what will be on his mind AND he'll be feeling very good as it's such a positive message. It Can be something very small , but it does need to be believable..

BUT 2ND WARNING
