Credit card debt solution
Good and bad credit card debt
So to get a good credit card debt solution that will last, you must understand the difference between good and bad debt. We must distinguish it that way once you're in debt, as the there really isn't good and bad debt if you're not in debt. But once you are in debt then you must separate the chaff from the wheat in order to implement a solid credit card debt reduction strategy.
A rule of thumb for identifying good or bad debt once you're in debt is with interest rates. If your rates are above 10 percent, consider it bad debt, if lower, consider it good debt.
Credit card debt relief plan
The next part of your credit card debt relief plan will be to find the worst of your credit cards as determined by the worst interest rates and add up the monthly total you must pay to get them down.
Then when you figure out that, add more to it to ensure you're making significant progress on lowering your debt on a monthly basis.
The only other solution if you don't have the funds available is to cut your expenses significantly or raise your income. There's simply no way around that.
Unsecured debt
Usually if it's unsecured debt it's bad debt as well, because whatever you bought with a credit card will in no way appreciate in value. The only redeeming value is if it's for under 10 percent interest rates.
Now get your credit card debt facts straight, and put them all together and find the top couple of cards (one if you're able), to use only in emergencies from now on.
Most of you already know what you need to do with the rest: absolutely nothing - never use them again. Many people cut them up or hide them away so they won't be tempted to resume their out of control spending habits.
Negotiate your credit card debt
You want to get credit debt relief by focusing on the highest interest rate credit cards and working on eliminating them first. There's all sorts of ways to do this so figure out the best way for you.
Another thing you can do is call up your credit card company and negotiate for a lower interest rate. All you have to do is look on the back of the card and dial the number.
Use some workable tactics and you can take in many cases several percentages off your interest rate and a nice chunk out of your monthly payment.
Credit card debt negotiation isn't that bad, and again, using the right techniques you can save a lot of money.
Just remember you still must pay your other monthly bills while doing this, so while taking strong steps keep your eye on the overall when working out credit card debt solutions.
