Getting Paid To Write: Article Layout Guide
63Get To The Point
Writing articles for income is an enjoyable self-paced way to earn a living, but it is important to write your article so that it is user/reader friendly. It is good practice to break your article into relevant paragraphs while providing smooth transitions from one to the next; by doing this, you will offer your readers a glimpse of what to expect further into the article, and they will be more likely to stay on your page and keep reading.
Write articles so that each paragraph is around five to eight sentences long. Generally speaking, this format would make the paragraph about five lines deep. In any case, writing the article in chunks like this allows your reader to digest information in smaller manageable blocks, and they are less likely to become bored and skip important information you are trying to convey.
The information your article contains must be comprehensive and right to the point. If you have seen those sales pages that are six feet long, and only offer an order page at the bottom asking you for money, you will understand why this is a good idea. If you are like most readers, you will scroll to the bottom and skip everything in between so you can find out what the writer is offering, and whether it is of any value to you. So, make your point clear in the very first paragraph and you are more likely to keep your audience right to the end of your article.

HubPages Works, So Stay Put
Breaking your article up with spaces is fine, but because HubPages allows us to include Amazon products and services, you might like to use those as page breaks instead of just white space. I have used them between articles here and not on the sides, although I plan to manipulate some of my pages to see what works best. Having been away from HubPages for some time, I was delighted to see some great new features when I returned, and I am now in the process of utilizing them all; ironically, in the months I have not been writing HubPages, this site has maintained the Number 1 position in my Google Stats for most number of clicks.
Over the time I have been writing and testing other new venues and concepts, I have come to realize that HubPages is the most effective venue for me to publish my work and from which to make some decent money. The marketing is already taken care of, and I can make money from five different angles with every single article I write. Remember that old saying: "If it ain't broke, don't try n' fix it"?

Whenever I publish a Hub, I also publish a summary of the article from my blog with a link back to the full article on my HubPages account. This is akin to having a house with more than one front door; the more places you can direct people to your hubs from, the more pathways you have to bring visitors to your pages. Don’t forget to use your URL trackers so you can earn commission from any new person who sets up an account with HubPages. More about that puzzling issue….
If you have not used the URL trackers because you found the information confusing, you’re not alone. I don’t know how many times I read and revised that page, and I know I am one of many who had the same problem. However, you might visit jimmythejock for a crash course. Jimmythejock’s article helped me immensely when I was trying to figure out how the program worked. Jimmythejock’s page is located here. Thanks Jimmy!
