So I get asked this questions all the time. How did you get so rich on runescape ? Well the truth is I got rich the same way atleast 75% of rich players on runescape have. I am the creator of the "merchanting clan" goldmerch. Over a year ago I started the clan by my self and struggled to get it going. Back when I started goldmerch there were only a few other merchanting clans and because of this I was able to get goldmerch up an running. Since then I have passed on the ownership of goldmerch however I made enough from it and If I chose too could continue to make more. I have owned billions before and met friends with 30B + in runescape gold. The truth of it is a majority of these friends and I did not make ALL of our money honestly. Obviously we made millions through godwars, monster slaying, barrows, and other means like that but the majority of our money has come from cheating the public.

You see, I don't care what they say. EVERY merchanting clan in the game runescape is scamming its members. Scamming can be considered a harsh word but the truth of it is that the owners and their friends or those who help them run the clan buy items long before the average member ever hears about them. When the average public member is still buying these items the private members are able to sell theirs at max without worry because they bought them early enough to profit on them and because they know when the items will be dumped so they can sell them without any troubles. Every clan will deny this, but it happens in all of them I PROMISE you. Consider the facts. The clan leader choses the item, and it is his job to tell the clan the item...it only makes sense that he is going to take advantage of this and buy first. Now while a LOT of the richest members in runescape get rich due to this advantage I do want to point out that you can still use merchanting clans to make your millions in runescape and I can help you acheive this.

My current account on runescape has 200M worth of rare items (mask,wines,pumpkins). I do not play anymore but I do log on when I am bored to talk to old friends and check how the game is doing. If I got back into merchanting I could make 10-15M per day without the slightest worry of losing any more. and within a month of playing I could be making 15-30M a day. So at this point you may have lost hope and simply be wondering, how can YOU get rich using these clans ?

The key to it is, beat the clan owners and their friends at their own game. Now it can still be hard based on the clan because some are so large you can not buy the items or not as many as you would like. Here is a list of things to try if you struggle with getting enough of merchanting clans items.

1. PM the high ranks in merchanting clans from a "noob" account or some account you don't use and ask them if they get items early and if they would tell you these items for something in return ?

2. Be on when the clan announced the item and be one of the first to post your buy offers, use ALL slots of your grand exchange because this will help you get the item faster. Also post your buy offers the closest to daily updates as you can.

Once you have the item this is where what you do is crucial and can make you money or lose you money. In order to beat merchanting clans at what they do, you HAVE to sell before they do. This means if you buy an item at 20k and the dump price is set at 60k do NOT risk it. Sell the item around 35-40k. By selling items clearly before the dump price you take away the risk of being stuck with these items, and you assure that every item you will profit. Now it can be painfull to sell an item at 35k when you think it will go much higher, but it is NOT worth the risk so just sell early.

If you pick 2 or 3 merchanting clans in runescape that are good and do this, buy as many as you can and dump extremely early you can make millions. Don't be scammed by merchanting clans, play them before they play you.

-- Few friendly merchanting tips --

1. Look for items that are constantly being merched by clans, when you find one of these items (by memory, writing down the items clans merch, or looking at the 180 day graphs) you can buy them when they are still crashing and nearing rebound. This gives you a head up on the merchanting clans as you have the item before they do.

2. DON'T join NEW merchanting clans. It is the sad truth but new merchanting clans that are not well known will typically fail now days. Back when I started gold it was not too hard to start, but now it has become nearly impossible to start new clans unless you have a vast amount of 24/7 advertisers.

3. Invest as much as possible but leave enough to mess around with. It is well known that the more you invest the more you make with merchanting clans or merchanting in general. If you making 5% per day than 5% of 100m is more than 5% of 20m. Just remember to leave money to buy items so you can have fun and will not get too bored.

So to get back to the start of this whole Hub. Most runescape players with 250m+ earned it through merchanting + doing something such as skilling or slaying monster/gwd. In the merchanting world it takes money to earn money but you really can start from anywhere. At one point in my "Runescape merchanting career" I went from 10m to 200m in 4 months. My advice as I posted above is to merchant with merch clans, but sell extremely early to avoid being stuck with items, maybe even try to get close to a clan owner and get pre-info. Just remember in the end being rich is fun as hell...but it IS just a game. Don't kill yourself if you can't get to billions because honestly I've been there, done that, had some fun but it wasn't worth the hours and hours I put in to reach that.
