Solving The Problem From The Inside
The answer to this question is so simple and yet so effective, that I could have used the largest font available on this page and write down just one sentence. Still, why so many people think that the resolution to their problems should be some intricate and complicating answers written in the form of hundreds of pages expensive books by so-called experts, it is beyond my grasp. Maybe it's because people tend to see their problems as such - very complicating, caused by some elaborate labyrinth of contributing factors that are just not easy to solve. In reality, things ARE NOT like that all. All that you need to solve your problem are already inside you. Why? Because, all that created a particular problem was already there in the first place. This is so true for the overweight problem.
The Equation
Here's the answer in the form of an equation that will put you into the right direction, and with some perseverance and time, your goal WILL BE achieved:
DETERMINATION + FOCUS + GUIDANCE = ANYTHING YOU WANT
You may heard of this before, or something of the like, but you never really heed any attention to it because you've been told for the whole of your life that in order to solve your problems you need to pay for the experts' help. Only one variable of the equation is about that - GUIDANCE. It is a very important one, but it cannot stand alone. Guidance is like a plant stick that you put into the soil so that the plant can grow properly. It will guide the plant, not allowing it to go astray, but the plant has to do all the growth on itself. The same thing goes for us, humans. We need guidance (in everything we do), but the gross of the work is on us to be done.
Let's discuss the variables mentioned in the equation.
1) Determination
Determination; from Latin determinare - to set limits to, to mark the end or boundary, sense of coming to a firm decision, to do something.
This is the first step to anything, not just losing weight. It gives you your goal, your task if you will, to change the present state of affairs and start transforming yourself to whatever you want to be or have. If that is your slim, healthy body, then set your determination to that. Make it absolutely clear in your mind how do you want your body to look like. What is exactly the weight you want to have, where you want to extract the pounds from and where you want to add some (mould you body, it is but a clay for your mind). It is of great importance that you know exactly how you want to look in a month or two. (It would be wise to even determine the time limit for you to get to that goal, but that's for another article to tell.)
2) Focus
Focus; from Latin, meaning "hearth, fireplace" and "point of convergence" - center of activity or energy.
This is the second step. Do not take your eyes off of your determined point. Always know what your goal is and always know you are closing to it with every step you take. Practice your focal point. It is your possible future, and your present moments are DETERMINATING the future income. So, if you do it right today, tomorrow will not be a surprise, some random event - it will be an OUTCOME, a very well planned and worked upon feature. You will be slim because YOU will make it happen! You will act in accordance of that premise, you will work your way to that crossroad where you can decide whether you want to be healthy and good-looking or make a u-turn and go back to being a fatty. (The choice is really easy, isn't it?)
3) Guidance
Guidance; from Old French guider, "to guide, lead, conduct, show the way"
My guess is you're young or middle-aged. You feel healthy but want to lose weight for the aesthetic reasons. You want to feel sexy and beautiful. Am I right? Well, then, you DO NOT need unhealthy weight loss programs! They would want to tell you to eat less carbohydrates, less fats, eat less all together... And then to take pills, do hypnosis, perform exercises that would kill a Spartan... What's the point? You need that sugar so your brain can get the only food it can possibly absorb (glucose). You need the most of the fats (or lipids) so that your body could metabolize vitamins (A, D, E, K - so called "fat-soluble vitamins). You DO NOT need exercises that tore your body apart! Push-ups that will make you back aches, manic jogging that will make your thighs like stones, all kinds of trim machines that will make you feel more tired then a cowboy after a rodeo season.... There are better ways. And there are natural ways. Be smart.
Choose a program that will provide you with the guidance in your path to that slim and healthy body you want. Choose ONLY ONE program, not 100's of them.
I will point here at one particular program. I think it is very well designed, it is based on healthy eating and proper exercising. It dismisses all kinds of low-carb / low-fat approaches and this is why I appreciate it so much. So, you can go there and see what it is all about. But there are many others, and the point is to choose just one and stick to it until you're done.
Two More Things
Start immediately! There is no time like present time. You've got to put things into motion, because nothing will come to you all by itself.
Do not stop until you're finished. You are determined, focused and have guidance - there is nothing in your way now!
