As a webmaster for over 10 years, I have gotten my hands dirty in the trenches of on page SEO and directory submissions for off page linking. One of the things that irritates me is when someone throws up a hub page or a Squidoo Lens and it immediately jumps above my website of 5 years in the search engine rankings.

One of the things I immediately found out was that my own idea of what a good page is did not mesh with the powers that be on hubpages. My sites would show up for a few hours, get ranked and then come dropping out of the sky as it became flagged by the moderators. Turns out that one of hubpages own tools is causing that to happen more often than I could have imagined.

The RSS feed widget, when used, must not show more than two RSS posts or your hub is flagged as being overly promotional. And if you link to that domain anywhere else in your hub, you have to reduce the feed to one post. I learned that after scratching my head trying to figure out what was causing my site to be flagged, but once I reduced the amount of RSS posts, I was back in the fold and my hub was gaining ground on the search engines again!
