Whether your dog lover has tastes which run toward the silly or the refined, there are items available to suit them.

Novelty items can buoy the spirit and give a hearty laugh. Antiques often gain value over time, which adds to the precious nature of the gift.

Wrapping

For a fun wrap, choose a dog themed paper. You can make your own out of plain brown mailing wrap. Dip a doggie biscuit or toy in a bit of fingerpaint and print onto the paper to personalize. Be sure you throw away the food or wash the toy so that pets don't get ahold, become ill or make a mess.

Collectible items can be found in a variety of forms. Old advertisements, artworks for display, knickknacks-- there are pieces of all shapes and sizes, featuring everyone's most beloved breeds.

Jewelry is a meaninful gesture, made more so when it is created with the pets so loved by owners in mind. Every type of dog from the tiniest teacup to the most formidable of beasts is represented. Some even have matching pieces for the pet and owner alike!

Inspirational stories of loyal companions and feisty pets are perinneal favorites. With versions to entertain young and old, canine fans of all ages will enjoy a nice book. Choose one filled with glossy photos of lovely creatures or thick tomes of adventure.

First books are some of the earliest memories of young children. Periods of our lives are marked by well-loved stories which touched our hearts.

Art means something different to each of us. Classical pieces made with well-trained strokes of the brush may please some. For others, dogs playing poker draw laughs every time we pass. Whether the recipient you have in mind prefers her art on the side of a tote bag or featured over the mantle, a piece of art is a joyful gift with each viewing.

Posters may come framed or unframed and inexpensive frames are easy to acquire.

If hanging a piece of work seems too complicated, consider a coffee table book collection of oversized photos featuring man's best friend.
