Gift ideas for a ten year wedding anniversary?

It's okay to be different
In an age where quickie divorces can cost less than a few hundred bucks and 1 in 3 marriages worldwide end in divorce, enjoying any kind of meaningful anniversary is something to be celebrated. Perhaps the first big one is the ten year wedding anniversary. Sure, the first is nice and you should both still be flushed with the joy of early romance, and the fifth is a good little milestone; but a tenth wedding anniversary shows you're really happy together. So how should you celebrate?
Traditionally, a tenth wedding anniversary should be celebrated by gifts of tin or aluminium - yet who wants a sheet of metal for such an occasion? Unless you both work in the tin or aluminium industry, of course! So, in order to try something different, here are some gift ideas for a ten year wedding anniversary.
Just Aluminium Roses
Okay, so I know I asked who wants aluminium or tin as an anniversary gift, and right away I'm recommending something aluminium. Yet if you're going to be traditional, there are still ways to be a little different. These aluminium roses from a company called Just Paper Roses offer a lasting and unique approach to giving flowers. Combine them with an aluminium vase and you've got something that's traditional AND different!
Engraved Anniversary Message in a Bottle
Everyone dreams of being washed up on your own desert island somewhere, away from everything and everyone but the one you love - what could be more romantic than your own desert island? Although that may not be too feasible, you can have your own little part of it with this Anniversary Message in a Bottle, complete with "the meaning of anniversary" engraved on the bottle, and the option to include your own personalized message.
Diamond Eternity Bracelet
Everyone knows that diamonds are a girl's best friend (and guys are getting in on the act too!). Beautiful; lasting; special; diamonds are all these things and more, and a diamond eternity bracelet will tell your significant other just what he or she means to you.
Anniversary Photo on a Canvass
If you want something really different that stands out from the crowd, how about a canvass with a photograph from your wedding day? These are easy enough to arrange yet can be personalized until you have something that is truly different and memorable, and will be a conversation piece for anyone visiting your home.
These are just some simple yet romantic ideas. Of course, if you have the budget, why not splash out a bit? Take your loved one for a champagne helicopter ride, followed by dinner at a romantic location? Or a picnic at the place where you first met (as long as it's not the local bookmakers!). There are a host of different ideas that you can come up with - the best ones are the ones that mean something to both you and your loved one.
Happy Anniversary!

These are creative ideas, and the links a lot of fun to follow. Honestly, I just draw huge blanks when there's a gift involved. But now I know who I'm going to consult with when I need a gift for a special occasion. Have you thought about going into the gift consulting business?
Haha, thanks Sally - glad you enjoyed the Hub :o)
I might take you up on your suggestion - certainly could be a nice little side project :)
The aluminum rose idea is pretty cool. I've never heard of that before. Message in a bottle is pretty funny - I actually did that for a girl once. I really like the photograph on the canvas idea. There are some great companies that do this. I had one done by a company in Lake Zurich, Illinois, but I forgot the name It came out really nice though. Anyways, nice article. I'll keep reading!

Thanks for the ideas. Something tin is the traditional gift. I'll have to think about that. I agree that ten years is a good milestone. Although, I once read that if a couple was married seven years the chances of divorce greatly decreased.
