If your guy is like my guy he is all about practicality. He needs stuff that is going to be useful and that is going to be practical. Oh No not socks and underwear again! You know how tired I am of getting you socks and Underwear? Don't worry ladies. I have come up with a list that is sure to please and surprise your guy no matter what the occasion. These gifts are practical and should appeal to any many no matter if it is Christmas, Father's Day or a Birthday. Let's take a look at what is hot for the guys this year!

 Yes Ladies I am sure this is the first thing that comes to your mind when thinking if a "thoughtful" gift for your guy.  Power tools get their blood pumping bring out the  Tim Taylor" in all our guys ( insert your own version on Tim Taylor laugh here).  It doesn't matter waht the job, a power tool is always required.  It doesn't matter that I could take a cabinet down with a screwdriver in the time it takes him to findthe power drill! :)  Now when it comes to power tools I do like the Black and Decker Brand.  Not because they are a popular brand, but more because they are easy for me to use too.  Some of the other brands are bigger, heavier bulkier and may be a bit difficult for me to use.  So unless otherwise requested, I would stay with the Black and Decker power tools.  ( oh and they should be easier for the guys to find in their junk since they are a bright reddish/orange!)

 Ha!  I know what you are thinking.. How many TV sets can one house have??  Apparently as many s they can hold until the man gets his dream TV.  With the coming of the digital age everything is geared toward Digital, not HDTV.  When it comes to TV's bigger is not always better (despite what your guy says!)  When shopping for  a TV for your guy here are some pointers.  If you are buying a digital TV make sure you have digital cable.  The picture will come in at a lower quality if you don't.  Pay attention to the speakers if you are not planning to run any external speakers to them. ( also when your guy unpacks his TV and tries it out for the first time, make sure he takes the plastic off the speakers!)  When considering Plasma over LCD it si a tough choice.  There are pro a and cons for each.  Plasma TV's are said to be hotter and not work well at high altitudes.  Plasmas are also better at tracking movement and have better color saturation.  LCDs burn brighter and eliminate the need for bulk.  The choice is yours. when you go to pick one out just think abotu the smile on your guys face as settles in to watch the Superbowl on it. 

I bet your guy likes music.. and if he does he likes it loud! Bose has some of the best music systems around. My girlfriend actually got one for IPOD form her guy and it sounds great!. The music was clear, as if the artist was right in the room. The amazing thid about it is that there were no speakers mounted every where. Just one simple little box and the sound was incredible.  My guy sits ion his car and blasts his music.  I think this year I will get him Bose music system ... and some earphones!!

When considering a gift for your guy this year don't just get him any cell phone. Get him a smart phone! These are your Blackberries, or your Nokias or Sumsungs.  Note they all have 3 g technology.  Phones these days have all sort of gizmo's on theme we have never thought about. Besides using it for ordering pizza your guy can find directions to the mall by using the GPS. Or he can use it as a computer and utilize google to find out when the next game is. There are so many things he can use the phone for that he will be busy for hours on it. he won' t even mind sitting on a bench in the mall while you get your shopping done! Oh and idd I mention you can play your favorite songs on these too?

By now you might be shaking your head and saying MsCheivous..those items are too expensive. Don't fret.. Her are some ideas for some more practical gifts that are more affordable. It seems that guys are the victim of quirky gifts. they are the ones who always gets the football shaped nacho holder or the coffee cup with a nude. That is because we just don't know what a guy wants. well here is what a guy wants.. Beer! Don't laugh! you know it's true! They are going to pick it up anyway so you might as well get it for them. Maybe you can upgrade a little by getting a variety pack! And if your guy is lucky enough to have his own mancave, hook him up with his own refrigerator.

 Does your man Golf?  Or maybe he likes to bowl?  Is it time to freshen up his equipment?   or just add to his collection?  Take a look and see.

OK you can't forget about sports!. No doubt your man spends some time over the weekend watching football or the big race. If he can't be there maybe he can dress in his teams colors as he sits down with the nice LCD TV and beer you bought him ;) There Are plenty of places to order on line for a t-shirt, jacket or hat with their favorite team on it.

 Maybe your guy is a collector.  If not maybe he can start!  Budweiser and NASCAR are putting out cool collectible cars and motor bikes.  it would be cool addition to any man cave!

 As the leaves turn it is becoming that time of year again.. men will go out for hours in the cold and the rain to hunt or fish.  Once they get that gleam in their eye they are consumed with the passion to catch whatever they are after!.. Hunting and fishing supplies make an ice addition to the Easter basket or a great stocking stuffer.  A guy can never have too much fishing stuff!
