Top 5 Holiday Gift Ideas for Men

I love to buy gifts; in fact, I like to give gifts more than receive them. Buying for men can sometimes be difficult. Here are my top 5 holiday gifts for men this year.

#5 Valet Tray

I am always picking up my husband's keys, wallet, etc. from different parts of the house. This valet is a great gift to keep everything in one organized place. It's compact and doesn't have a top; I like this because it's convenient and items can just be dropped in the valet. If it's too small, there are other larger valets at Red Envelope.

Soho Valet from Red Envelope

Cost: $78.00

#4 Barbecue Took Kit, Branding Iron and Meat Thermometer

I say, encourage cooking! This is a great barbecue tool kit; we've had ours for eight years from Williams-Sonoma, and it's weathered a lot of BBQs. It comes with a basting brush, a spatula, a fork, tongs, and a storage box. If you want to stick with the theme, you can add the monogrammed steak brand and thermometer fork. The brand is a fun item you would never buy for yourself, and the fork has saved many a steak in my household. The thermometer can be used with chicken, pork, beef, and fish.

Williams-Sonoma Teak Barbecue Tool Set

Cost: $59.99

Steak Brand

Cost: $39.99

Meat Thermometer

Cost: $29.95

#3 Bodum Glasses and Beer of the Month Club

Cityplus, another Hubpages's author wrote a great hub on bodum double walled glasses. I think these would be a great gift for the guy who has everything. Complement the beer glasses with a subscription to a beer of the month club for a complete gift package.

Bodum Canteen Double Wall Beer Glasses

Cost: $19.99 for two glasses

Micro Beer of the Month Club

Cost: $31.50

#2 Boxing Fitness Set

Who doesn't like to punch a bag? Okay, maybe not everyone, but I think this would be great gift if you have the room. Boxing is great exercise and this set from Costco comes with everything and for a good price. Plus, if he isn't as enthused about it as you thought, he can take it back no problem!

Everlast 70 lb. heavy bag, leather gloves, hand wraps, holder and chain

Cost: $87.99 shipping included

#1 A VSD: Very Special Day

A VSD is a Very Special Day. These are the "prize" gifts in our family because on your VSD you get to do whatever you want. The key is to plan ahead so the day is a success. Maybe he wants a day to relax, get a pedicure, go shopping and go to a nice dinner and the ballet. Oh wait, that's my VSD. Seriously though, whatever it is, the day has to be guilt-free and full of the things that he likes to do. An added bonus, if he gets a VSD maybe the gift will be reciprocated!

Cost: $0 to ????

I have a feeling VSDs could go global. The most sought after gift of the season. The last VDS I gave robin was about her favorite things. I gave her a card for each activity. I'm not sure I can remember them all, but we did

1. Breakfast at her favorite restaurant

2. A bag of her favorite treats

3. A walk around her favorite park

4. A bubble bath with her favorite candles

5. A massage

6. Shopping at her favorite store

7. A romantic dinner out

This scored be big points for a long time. Well worth the investment:)

Hi Jimmy, I liked the boxing set, too. Could be a dual-gift for our family; not that there's any tension/stress around here. ;)

Yes, that was a great gift, Paul. You gave me a watch, too. You still get points for that one love, and it was years ago. You did fail to mention why I got that VSD though, a missing of Mother's Day perhaps. ;) xo

I have been struggling to find a great gift for my boyfriends birthday so found your hub very helpful. I have already bought him a Tag watch as the main present and was looking for something practical as a bonus and I think the BBQ tool kit is a winner!
