Gift ideas for Dad

How often does Dad get a tie or bathrobe for Christmas? For most of them, that's an almost yearly thing. Well, this year, get Dad something he'll truly appreciate. No, this isn't an ad for Radio Shack, just a few ideas that will make Dad's heart swell with happiness this Christmas.

What does Dad like to do in his spare time? Does he like to fish? If so, go get his fishing license for him. That's one of those things that he really doesn't like to do, but must have in order to pursue his hobby. You might also get him a new tackle box, with a few choice lures inside. If your Dad is into hunting, why not buy him that new scope for his rifle.

Does Dad like to watch car shows? If your Dad is into hot rods or muscle cars, get him a subscription to one of the hundreds of magazines that cater to every car nut's desires. Instead of getting him another case of tools that he'll either never use, get him a gift card to the Automotive Store of his choice. This will give him the chance to get the tools he really needs or that special car part that he's always wanted.

Is Dad a wannabe computer nerd? Get him some software that he can use while playing online. There are several places that offer inexpensive software that can help him with his taxes, his business, and even teach him how to improve his golf swing. If he's a computer genius, get him a couple new gadgets that he can use at home or at work.

If Dad's a sports fan, get him something different with his favorite teams logo on it, like mud flap for his truck or maybe seat covers for his car. Try getting him tickets to the next game, that will make his eyes light up. If that's a little out of your price range, try getting him the sports package via his cable or satelite company.

No matter what you get him, Dad will love it because it came from your heart. But with a little time and effort, you can make this a Christmas he'll remember for a life time.
