Digital picture frames are a dime a dozen, and it is difficult to review them when most of them have almost the very same features.  I mean, how many ways can I say: “easily downloads from PC to frame in just seconds”?

In the case of the GiiNii 8 inch Multimedia Digital picture frame, attaching the frame to the PC is not even required.  I was amazed at how quickly I got this frame to work right out of the box.  It was so simple, that I didn’t expect it to work at all.

All I did was take the memory card from my phone and insert it in the back of the frame, and the plugged the frame into the wall.  As soon as I hit the power button, I saw the word loading on the screen, and then saw an unorganized slideshow of all the photos on my SD card.  It really was quite amazing.

I found that I could do the same with a thumb drive.  Just plug it into the slot, and bam! Instant slideshow.  There are also other ports for other sources of digital pictures like for MS, MMC, MMC+, xD and MS Duo, and the frame can also play music and video files as well.  Formats that it supports are MP3, WMA, AVI, JPG, TIF, and GIF. 

I found the controls to operate the frame are very interesting.  All you have to do is touch any of the buttons on the back, and they will show up on the screen so you know what button that you are hitting.  This is different than other picture frames, because they usually have the buttons on the front, or on the back.  The problem with having buttons on the back is that it is hard for the user to tell which one that they are pushing.  On the GiiNii Multimedia Digital Picture Frame, when you push the buttons, there is no guesswork involved, they show up very clearly.

Speaking of clear, the Dazzle Color chips give you a clear view of the photos from the screen for super sharp color.  The Picture Frame also comes with a clock, complete with a calendar and alarm. 

In fact, the picture frame has a power-saving feature that works well at night called EnerGiiNii that can reduce power usage that can automatically go to sleep.
