"Gilbert Days" are Back in Gilbert,AZ

Gilbert was actually a town founded long back, was an agricultural community, and remained as a farming town for many years. It was known other as the ”Hay Capital of the World", until 1920. Since then, Gilbert has developed a lot from an agricultural town to one of the fastest growing cities in America today with people relocaing to this city in big numbers. In the course of these fast moving times Gilbert did not let go off its age old traditions. "Gilbert Days” marks the beginning of November in the city. A three day fun filled celebration marks the paving of Gilbert road through downtown. The Annual Gilbert Days celebration is a series of events and activities that pay tribute to the town’s rich western heritage. The celebration includes the Gilbert days 5K run and 1 Mile fun run , a Parade through downtown that goes down the Gilbert road from juniper street to Gilbert town square and Gilbert municipal centre. This event is followed by the IPRA rodeo action and carnival that takes place at the rodeo park. Over 1200 runners, adults and children participate in the run with huge crowd of residents and visitors cheering them. The trophies are awarded to the top male and female runners of both runs. The medals are awarded to the top there finishers of the 5K race in each age group for both male and female participants. At the finish line, runners are served with refreshments.
