Professional wrestling is usually "choreographed," more or less, but that doesn't mean it is pain-free.

Nobody except the wrestlers themselves know for sure what is spontaneous in a performance, and what is 'scripted' ahead of time by the pro wrestlers.

To be a wrestler you must first be an athlete, the same as a professional f boxer or football player. You must also be fairly large to be a wrestler. since most American wrestlers are heavyweight (205 pounds plus).

A muscle-bound torso is a definite plus, in other words. It also helps to be a fan before trying to become a pro-wrestler. Try watching as many televison matches as you can keeping note of exactly what the wrestlers are doing.

You can find sites on the Internet where schools promise to help you become a wrestler, but the tuition can be high-- often more than $2,000 US Dollars for just two months training. If you go this route, select one that is well-recommended as as clue as to what is quality teaching. Make sure the school has in reality produced pro-wrestlers; ones who have gone on to perform for professional compensation.

Remember that wrestling is a drama and a sport, voice and acting lessons are a definite plus. Ask yourself, is your personality and/or appearance better suited to play an evil villain or a heroic hero? Have you imagined a character that fans will adore or love to hate? Like all actors, you must be capable of slipping into an alter-ego with ease.

You will of course have to be ready to start small.  You could seek out one of many "independent" federations in your local area. Or an alternate way of breaking in to wrestling, is with what are called "dark matches," which are put on before the TV show goes on air, in order to 'warm up' the audience.  

Pro-wrestling, like acting, takes perseverance, and the right 'looks' as well as an ability to take the bruises along with the applause.
