Pamper Your Princess!

People used to hire me to come into their home and pamper their little princess and her pals, and I'm here to tell you how to save your money and do it yourself! It doesn't need to cost a lot and can be loads of fun for your little girl and her friends!

What You'll Need:

Wash Buckets: One for each girl (you can purchase these at any Dollar Store or at Wal-Mart.

Towel and Wash cloth: One for each girl

Headbands: One for each girl

Bubble Bath or Foot Soak

Body Scrub or Body Polish

Body Mask

Body Lotion or Body Butter

Facial Cleanser

Facial Mask

Facial Cream

Assorted Colors of Nailpolish

Invitations:

You can find really fun Spa Invitations right now just about anywhere or make your own! Use the words "You're invited to a Pampering Spa Party to Celebrate Stacey's Birthday" or something like that. You could make it a sleepover or just have the girls come for a couple of hours. Whatever you decide to do, I can assure you that the girls will have a blast and will be talking about it for a very long time!

Arrival Time:

As the girls are arriving either just let them play or have a craft activity for them. One option is to have plain sugar cookies in the shape of a foot and let the girls decorate them with different colored frosting and sprinkles. Let the girls take these home as part of their favor. Or, you could purchase wooden letters at any craft store, get the first letter of each girl's name and let them decorate these with paint, glitter, adhesive gems and pom poms. Another idea is to have them decorate their own flip flops. The girls love this and it can be very simple to do. Just purchase inexpensive plastic flip flops and the girls can use ribbon, adhesive gems and pom poms to decorate them any way they want. They can then wear their new flip flops home after pampering their feet!

One more option is to have the girls make their own lip gloss. Check out the really easy recipe below!

Fruity Lip Gloss --Made with Kool-Aid!

2 tbsp. solid shortening

1 tbsp. fruit-flavored powdered drink mix (Kool-Aid)

35 mm plastic film container

Mix shortening and drink mix together in a small microwave-safe container until smooth.

Place container in the microwave on high for 30 seconds until mixture becomes a liquid.

Pour the mixture into a plastic film container or any other type of small airtight container.

Place the fruity lip gloss mixture in the refrigerator for 20 to 30 minutes or until firm.

Let the Pampering Begin!

Once all of the girls have arrived it's time to start the pampering! Spread out all of the towels ahead of time and fill the buckets with warm water and bubble bath or foot soak (hint: girls love scented products like Strawberry or Coconut!) while the girls are enjoying their first activity. My suggestion would be to only fill the buckets about 1/4 to 1/2 full as the girls can get a little silly and you don't want water spilled all over your floors!

Have the girls all remove their shoes and socks and roll their pants up to their knees and pick a bucket to put their feet into. While they are soaking their feet have the girls put on a headband to hold their hair back and hand each girl a damp washcloth to wash their face with. What I used to do is have an extra bucket with all of the washcloths in it, that way when the girls are done with the facial they can throw them back in. Go around the room and put a small amount of facial cleanser in each girl's hand and have them rub it onto their faces in a circular motion. Then they should use the washcloth to remove cleanser. After they have done this, go around and give each girl a small amount of facial mask to apply to her face. This is fun if you find a bright green or blue mask.

While the mask is on the girls' faces and feet are soaking, you could play a little game similar to musical chairs or hot potatoe where you have a small prize, maybe a bottle of nailpolish or scented lotion, and have the girls pass it around while you play music. When the music stops the girl holding it is the winner.

Now it's time to pamper the feet! The first step is to give each girl a small amount of body scrub which she will scrub her feet and lower legs with. While she's working on one foot the other remains in the tub. Once she's finished she can remove the scrub in the tub using her hands. Then she will take her feet out and towel off. You can then go around and supply each girl with a body mask that she will put on her feet and ankles. Depending on the age of the girls you may want to skip this step as it might get a little messy with young gals.

While mask is soaking into feet have the girls go ahead and remove the mask that is on their faces. Then give each some facial lotion to hydrate the skin. This is a good time to talk about the importance of always using a moisturizer on their skin to hydrate and protect it.

OK, we're almost done! Have the girls put their feet back in the tubs and rinse off the mask, then remove and pat dry. Once they are done give each one some body lotion or body butter to massage into the skin on their feet and lower legs. Show the girls their options for polish and while they are deciding you can remove and dump the tubs.

While you are polishing I suggest you have all of the girls remain seated until you are completely finished to allow for drying time. You can also polish fingers at this time if you choose to. I never went to crazy with this, just do one simple coat of polish, otherwise it will take too long.

This completes the pampering portion of the party! The girls absolutely love it and feel great afterwards! You can then do cake and presents and then hand out favors. For favors I suggest getting things like nailpolish, nail files, lotion, lip gloss, fun little soaps, etc.

I hope this has given you lots of ideas for throwing your princess a fun pampering party that her and her friends will never forget!
