Saving Money

Believe it or not, there are simple ways in our day to day life that we can actually do to save money.

1. Clipping Coupons: Just clipping coupons saves money, however, look in your local ads to see if the items you have coupons for, are also on sale, this will give you an even bigger savings. Look for stores that offer double coupon days, the savings there will a nice surprise!

Before you head out to dinner look for free entres or free appetizers coupons. If you have a coupon savings of just $5.00 a week, that is a savings of $260.00 a year!

2. Rebates & Unexpected Money: All of us have received a rebate or unexpected money at some time or other. Whether it be something that you have sent off for, an employment bonus, or a gift. Instead of going out and spending that extra bit of money, put it into a high interest paying savings account or possibly a mutual fund. Let the compounding interest do the rest! You will be surprised at how much you can have at years end.

3. Negotiate: Negotiate your monthly bill with your local cable company, utlity company or telephone company. Do your homework first! Check out what the local competition has to offer, then speak to a supervisor and see if they will match the price! Even a small savings of $10.00 a month will give you an extra $120.00 a year. Same goes with credit card companies. Call and try to obtain a lower interest rate. It doesn't hurt to try and in many cases you will succeed!

4. Miscellaneous: Cleaning out your closets or basement, maybe your garage? Have a garage sale, advertise the items on Craigs List, or try to auction your item off on your favorite auction website. If those things don't work, donate it to a charity and use it as a tax deduction. Instead of throwing that item away, try to make a buck off of it first.

How many times have you purchased items from a store and never used them? Gather up all your unused items and take them back to the store. Exchange for items that you will use, get a gift card, or if you have your receipt get your money back!

By using these few savings tips, your end of the year savings will amaze you!
