Awesome splendor.

Those were the two words that came to mind ... blocking out all others.. as we stood at the end of the board walk trail on our first trip to Glacier National Park. No words or photos can ever portray the beauty as it really is.

Whether you go camping or hiking or just driving on a day visit .... you will leave with part of Glacier going with you.

Here is where you see where "big sky" came from. The sky has to be big to fit all those mountains in its realm.

Sitting at the northern edge of Montana with Canada's Waterton National Park in Alberta abutting it on the north..... about 30 miles north of Kallispel and the Flathead Valley ... with Whitefish and the Big Mountain ski area all within range... it is a part of our great country that you should not turn down to visit if you get the opportunity.

Entering from West Glacier you can go directly onto the Going-to-the-Sun Road... which has to be one of the most .. .if not the most breathtaking drive in all of America.

It is not for the faint hearted ... with its curves and cliffs and steepness .. but one you cannot miss if you are going to Glacier.

Walking along the boardwalks ... just soaking it all in... you can't help but be frozen in place while trying to absorb the greatness of it. There is mountain peak after mountain peak with glaciers sitting between and lakes as pristine as anything could be.

There isn't an area of the park that those two words do not apply to ..... making me feel they had to be coined there...

...awesome splendor.

God's awesome splendor.

You could add majestic to that.

Don't even try to go better.

You can't.

You can get a glimpse of what it is like here..... even the photos are like none you will see anywhere else.
