3 Tips To Selecting a Glass Table
So you're thinking of buying a Glass Top Table
They're stylish, trendy and will add that modern quality look to your home. So what do you look for when selecting your ideal glass tables?
Here are 3 things you should know and look for before buying:-
Tip 1 - The Type of Glass
Is the glass top made of "Toughened Glass"? Why is this so important? As we all know glass can break and if it does is incredibly sharp and hazardous. This is normal glass.
If you have "Toughened Glass" it is so strong that its unlikely to break and 2nd if it does break it breaks into very tiny pieces like when a car windscreen breaks. This is far safer than ordinary glass.

Tip 2 - How To Stop Scratching
This question is often asked. The answer is you have to be careful with it. Glass will scratch and trying to polish out scratches from "toughened glass" can cause it to shatter. So the cure is prevention in this case
Tip 3 - How Can You Tell The Quality?
Look at the edge of the glass. If it's finished of with a smooth often slightly rounded edge this is a good sign it's a quality glass. If the glass is mounted in a metal frame, look for the quality of the welding between the metal parts. Smooth welds show craftsmanship and quality. They are also stronger and hard wearing.

Having a glass table myself I know all the difficulties in keeping them scratch free. They're great because they're thin and easy to clean but preventing the scratches is especially difficult when company comes over.
