Home energy use has declined in the U.S. but Japanese homes are far more energy-efficient

JAPAN LEADS THE WORLD IN ENERGY CONSERVATION

Japanese homes used less than half the energy, on average, of American homes in 2001 the last year for which comparable data are available. Japan is far ahead of the U.S. in adopting new energy saving technology. So is Germany according to the article by Martin Fackler in this morning's NY Times. 1-6-06.
