A few years back I got interested in buying a gun. i was never raised around them and was brought up thinking I should fear guns. As I grew older I realized it was not the gun I needed to fear but the person wielding it. After saving up enough money I loaded up with a few friends and headed down to a traveling gun show that came to town. This was a new experience for me, being surrounded by gun enthuiasts from all walks of life. It was nothing like I imagined, old ladies to dads with their sons.

With only $400 on me I was limited to what I could by.  I eventually came across a Smith and Wesson semi automatic .40 caliber pistol.  It came with a case and two extra 14 round clips.  I bought it right away thinking this was a perfect choice.  I do not regret buying it but I do wish I had waited and bought what I really wanted.

There are several reasons that I understand now as to why I should have waited and bought the Glock.

1. Every gun you pick up that is not a glock will be compared to a Glock at some point in its life.

2. The number of accessories available for the Glock.

3. The durability is impeccable.

4. This gun feels great in your hand and firing it is just as great.

5. The resell value is much higher than most guns (not that you would ever want to resell it).

You may also need to purchase a grip extension with your Glock 26/27 as most people will have their pinky hanging over the bottom of the clip.  You can purchase these at a local gun store or online.  I find they are usually cheaper online.

If you are buying your first gun dont be scared of spending a little extra to purchase the Glock, its well worth the money.  As you get more experienced and develop different needs you will always be able to upgrade the Glock.
