Glycolic Acid Peel

Quickly Get Rid of Wrinkles and Blemishes with Glycolic Acid Peels

Wrinkles are a natural part of the aging process. Must people accept them in due course – after all, there’s nothing you can do to prevent this natural occurrence, right?

Wrong. There are a variety of treatments to get rid of wrinkles. One of the easiest wrinkle treatments (and most effective) is the Glycolic acid skin peel. These can be used to effectively reverse the skin aging process and pump that youthful complexion back into your face.

Wrinkles can be caused by a variety of factors including age, environment, bad skin care products, and lifestyle.  The source of your wrinkles originate from cell damage. This cell damage is caused by free radical proteins which interfere with the cellular process. This damage shows up as wrinkles.

Glycolic acid peels are a fantastic treatment for wrinkles because you can easily get them from over-the-counter and use them in the comfort of your own home. There are various “strengths” of glycolic chemical peels. Weaker ones can be found in drug stores, though the stronger ones may require a prescription from a doctor. The stronger the Glycolic peel, the more effective it will be at removing wrinkles from your face.

Why do Glycolic peels work so effectively to treat wrinkles?

Glycolic acid comes from the alpha-hydroxy acid family – a compound extracted from sugar cane. Glycolic acid peels work because they strip the dead skin cells from the surface of the skin by weakening the bonding agents that bind them. The process effectively removes the damaged top layer of the skin, allowing the inner (clean) layer to replace the old, damaged outer layer.

Since it’s an acid peel, there will be a bit of burning after the peel process is completed (a bit like sunburn). The skin is also a bit more sensitive to the sun. Since Glycolic acid is a somewhat sophisticate treatment, you should see a professional to get the treatment done. However, there are various (safe) off-the-shelf versions of the glycolic peel you can purchase.

In my experience, glycolic acid peels are a great solution to skin aging. However, you need to keep in mind that you will have to keep using them to maintain your youthful looking skin.
