Glytone is a large series of skin care products from Genesis Pharmaceuticals. The main active ingredient of Glytone is neutral glycolic acid, which is a type of alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) that has been clinically proven to remove the top layer of dull dead skin cells. Glycolic acid has very tiny molecule makeup and thus can easily penetrate deep under our skin to exfoliate dead skin which makes our skin complexion looks dry and dull. Some people do experience temporary sun sensitivity after using Glytone products because the removed dead skin cells do offer some bit of sun protection.

Alpha hydroxyl acids such as Glytone's glycolic acids are commonly used in cosmetic chemical peels. You are not supposed to leave the cleansing foam on your skin long enough before the glycolic acids are absorbed. On the other hand, the Glytone Ultra Heel and Elbow Cream contains 29.5% free glycolic acid and works very well on dry and coarse skin with a thick layer of dead skin cells on our elbows, knees, ankles, heels etc. The Glytone Body Lotion is another good choice that contains a milder 17.5% glycolic acid formulation to use all over our bodies to erase rough and rejuvenate uneven skin. In short, if you have budget constraints, get the Glytone lotions and avoid the cleansers.
