And Jesus entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand. And He said to the man who had the withered hand, "Step forward." Jesus said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other. (cited from Mark 3:1-5)

This is one of those marvelous healings that Jesus did, recorded in the Bible. We see that healing virtue is within Him and He is able to create those missing organs on the fly. Now we do not know how that man's hand got 'withered', but we read of another account where a man was born blind.

Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. And He said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing. Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind said, "Is not this he who sat and begged?" Some said, "This is he." Others said, "He is like him." He said, "I am he... though I was blind, now I see." (cf. John 9:1-9, 25)

And another incident of a blind man receiving healing in much the similar way for the Lord Jesus Christ:

Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him... Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly. (cf. Mark 8:22,25)

And another interesting miracle Lord Jesus performed in a case where the organ was lost at the spur of a moment (i.e., amputated):

Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus. But Jesus answered and said, "Permit even this." And He touched his ear and healed him. (cf. John 18:10; Luke 22:51)

These are just a few cases in which we see one thing in common - the Lord Jesus Christ creating an organ in a person. He explains how He does these 'creative' miracles, thus, "Whatever the Father does, the Son also does in like manner" (cf. John 5:19). There lies the secret. God, the Heavenly Father is the One who heals (Exodus 15:26); so also, the Messiah, the Son of God, Jesus Christ is the healer, by whose stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).

Has the Healing Ended Yet?

And Jesus further says, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do... And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." (John 14:12; Mark 16:17,18)

For this statement, we see evidence of fulfilment beginning in the Book of Acts of the Apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people. Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done. God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul. (cf. Acts 2:43; 8:6; 19:11)

And many more miracle healing were performed by the hands of 'those who believed'. Not only did these things happen in the past, but these things are happening even today through the ministry of the servants of God like Oral Roberts, Reinhard Bonnke, Kathryn Kuhlman, Benny Hinn, DGS Dhinakaran (India), TB Joshua (Nigeria) and multitudes of such servants of God worldwide have manifested the healing power of God through restoration of damaged, malformed and even missing organs.

The Promise is for You

While you may say, "Why is not God healing someone through some evangelist?" the promise of God's healing power is given to everyone who believes. Instead of searching for what is lacking in the faith of another person (i.e., the one who is unable to be healed and the one whose prayer is not answered with the expected miracle), ask yourself where you lack. The promise is there like a million-dollar cheque with your name written on it, it is you who have to receive it and encash it to materialize the promise - otherwise, it will just remain as words written in your Bible. Believe in Jesus and 'YOU' will receive His promises fulfilled in your life.

The Only Condition Laid

Healing took place wherever Jesus Christ went. Healing took place whenever the disciples of Lord Jesus Christ prayed in faith, because the Resurrected Lord walked among those disciples, because they were sons and daughters of God (John 1:12). The presence of God is the key to the flow of His healing virtue. He is a Holy God. A man with his sinful nature and unforgiven sins cannot have communion with the Almighty God. God is holy and expects his children to be holy.

"Come out from among them (the unholy ways) and be separate," says the Lord. "Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters," Says the LORD Almighty. (cf. 2 Corinthians 6:17,18)

Just as you cannot receive any good thing from someone whom you are unrelated to, if you expect God to work in your life, you need to be at peace with Him and accept the gift He offers - the gift of 'adoption' into His family as His child, which He offered through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ upon the cross. The Lord Jesus Christ has borne all our griefs and sorrows on Himself. He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace (with God) was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed - healed of our uncleanness, unholiness, disobedience, unfaithfulness and our lack of faith, and also healed of our physical infirmities.

Make Peace with God

Now, if you would like to witness the same power of God working in your life and in that of others through you, draw near to God. If you have not received the salvation that the Lord Jesus Christ offers, and you are not sure that your sins are forgiven, accept His free gift by giving control of your life to the Lord Jesus Christ by saying the following prayer wholeheartedly. Your life will never be the same!

Prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus,

I admit that I am a sinner and You are a Holy God. I have lived my life selfishly. I have done many things that don’t please You (slowly, call out all those sins you have committed against the Lord, one by one). I have been far from you and lived a wayward life. I am sorry and I repent. I ask you to forgive me. I wholeheartedly acknowledge the supreme sacrifice of Your life on the cross to pay for my sins (in silence, experience the peace of God filling your heart as He forgives all your sins). I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life. From now on, You are the Master over my life. Help me to live every day in a way that pleases you. I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you.
