God & Injustice
60God & Injustice
Today crime is on the rise, prisons are overpopulated and we hear of wars and rumors of wars. Throughout all of this someone is bound to ask the question, "Why does God allow all of this? Which is a valid question for someone to ask.
If someone is in prison, do you think that they are suffering injustice? If your freedom was taken, would you consider that "unjust"? Why certainly you would. Because you know yourself and the circumstances around your life and that there is no reason for your freedom to be taken. But you may say to yourself that the people in prison deserve for their freedom to be taken because they caused it. Without even knowing the circumstances surrounding their particular circumstances you assume that they deserve to be there and that is why not many question the living conditions of the incarcerated. We assume they broke some law or laws and the result is that they are behind bars. This is not a form of injustice but it is merely cause and effect. They broke a law, now they must go to jail. Simple. And so it is with the "injustices of this world". You have man-made laws, you have natural-laws and then you have spiritual laws. Gravity is a law of nature. If you ignore it and jump off a cliff there will be a consequence. So if one were to violate a man-made law, they would suffer a consequence; And if one were to ignore a natural-law they would also suffer a consequence. So why is it that we think we can ignore spiritual laws and not suffer consequences?
Ignorance is no excuse. If a baby who is not aware of the law of gravity crawls out of her crib at night, will the baby not fall because the baby is not aware of the law of gravity? Of course not! And so it is with spiritual law. If people want to question God, this means that they believe He exists. If someone believes He exists why don't they obey His laws. All the injustices of this world have their root in man's disobedience and rebelliousness toward God and His laws.
Now someone might ask, "Well what are His laws?" or "How do we know which laws are His?" Well my reply to them is, "What are the results of their past and current answers to these questions?" We have Universities and Schools teaching that there is no God and that we evolved from apes. No wonder it appears that God is not there for some, for we have totally removed God from our lives. How can He intervene in our lives if we won't invite Him? We spit at God every chance we get and then when things aren't going our way we ask why God is not helping us? How about if we try worshiping Him and giving Him His due honor as Creator and then see what happens? If we have the audacity to question Him why not have the audacity to believe in Him and honor Him?
Now someone might ask, "Well if God is good why don't He just intervene anyway inspite of the person's belief and help them?" So here we have assumptions of God's character. Ok, let's run with it. Let us begin with the major premise:GOD IS GOOD. What is consistent with that premise? If God is good, He will not force His way in somebody's life unless they invite Him. Is a husband good to his wife? If so, then he will not force himself on her. And so it is with God.
